I think the first aid kit is/was only included on the SE Off Road edition, or at least it was in 2008 when i bought mine.

I've got a 2008 OR (off road) edition. It's part of the SE trim (or was through 08 at least). I did need to have it 'built' to suit as few were made w/ the options I wanted from the factory (leather, full airbags).

Nitto Terra Grapplers. Can't say anything bad about them after 8k (no experience in snow/ice yet).

19.1 mpg on a I recent trip of 1400 (mostly) freeway miles from west Texas to Georgia, loaded w/ gear and a Thule top box. Usually at 2-3 mph over speed limit which translates to an overall average of about 73 mph. Top speed was 86. 87 octane fuel. The first several hundred miles in TX saw much lowe...

I drive an 08 OR. I (very) rarely tow. Mostly highway miles to date, but some city (and a lot of off-pavement) in the mix. I run 87 (reg) almost exclusively. I run Premium once in a while, meaning about once every three months, to baby it a little. I add injector cleaner every 12k or so,... (25k and...

I've towed said trailer roughly same distance at speeds you mention w/o any problems (in an older 4 banger 4x4). Trailer/tongue weight are important factors you should take into consideration. If towing much weight, drive accordingly.

AC Odor?

Since new (08, bought in April 08) i've noticed a strange scent inside the cabin when the AC is turned on (it seems to dissipate after a short while). It's not a bad smell necessarily, but I can't put my finger on it: some type of chemical odor or something. When new i thought this may be 'normal' a...

I wonder how much load you end up pulling doing something like this? The truck weighs several thousand lbs plus the fact that it is driving the opposite direction. I would think you are exceeding the tow rating by a substantial amount. Probably not the best thing for your drive train. Agreed, which...

Truck Pull: V6 Pathy OR vs V8 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4

OK, the disclaimer. I did a childish thing by accepting a challenge from a friend down in Mexico who wanted to show off his truck: i put my 2008 OR V6 (4x4) up against his 2000 Chevy Silverado V8 4x4 in a truck pull. Kids, don't try this at home. The facts: we were on dirt, pretty loose, but not ove...

I think LT load range D will suffice for all your weight needs, and then some. I recently purchased Nitto TGs load range E which is overkill (i wanted as much side wall ply as i could get given the terrain where i live / work). They drive well and i'm happy with the ride, but i think i'd have been j...

Stay clear of Heritage!

I agree extended warranties provide great peace of mind, and - as others have affirmed - can save lots of money. That said, one company to stay away from is Heritage. Seems they may not even exist. There is no way of contacting them directly, and their record of handling claims is atrocious. A class...

Thanks for the input. Two questions, please: how well does it color match (what color is your truck. My PF is storm grey, and i was thinking of just applying black line-x, only to the lower doors/rockers). And, is it expensive?

Line-X

Any thoughts/experiences w/ Line-X on the body as a form of protection from rocks etc. I live and work in rocky areas and noticed paint chips between the wheels on the lower rocker areas. My concern is both aesthetic and rust prevention. My friend recommended considering Line-x: protects from debris...
