I've seen X's and Frontiers run them, but they seem neglected in the R51 community. It's a 33" tire and by being a little narrower, probably won't even rub.

The downside of course is the limited tire selection and only M/T tread option.

Nice!

I emailed Eaton but was told they didn't have any plans for the R200. Time to make some more calls.

Did you ever pick up some tires?

Have you ever considered 255/85r16?

There is a simple LSD available for the R200 (Quaife QDF10L). The Subaru WRX has the R180 in the rear with a helical limited slip stock. Theoretically it will fit in the Pathy as well. This guy is trying to put the Subie LSD in his Xterra (and the QDF10L in the C200k) http://www.expeditionportal.com...

That's exactly what a selectable locker is. It's on as a locker when you want it, it's off when you don't. The downside is they tend to be pricey. Auto lockers are great because of the price and your don't have to turn them on and off. Plus they tend to relatively easy diy installs. The R51's proble...

I think my statement overstates the negative of auto lockers. Hundreds if not thousands of people drive with rear auto lockers in their DDs. LSDs tend to be less noticeable on the road but also less helpful in some offroad situations. The most sought after is the selectable locker because it's all t...

Its an auto locker. They only lock when torque is applied. So if you coast through a turn it acts like an open differential. If you gas it, it locks up and kicks your tailend around. I'd imagine in a long wheelbase vehicle like the R51 it wouldn't be too bad on-road... but LesterB can answer best si...

Very cool. Its always good to see R51s out there getting used. If you look over in the Driveline and Powertrain sub forum we have a thread going about a R200 locker. So far the only successful install was by LesterB with a Powertrax C200k (lunchbox). Steve over at Rugged Rocks is looking for someone...

Dude, call up Steve at Rugged Rocks and tell him you want to either lock the R200 or do a SAS. He is extremely knowledgeable, loves nissans and is great to work with.

I was thinking about that after my comment. It might make it even easier.

Although you would have to fab up control arms. I am not smart enough on coil springs and SAS's to debate either.

Any master fabricators around here? Or rock-crawling aficionados?

This is probably about the cheapest lift option available. I don't have any experience with it to mention issues.

Not sure how many have looked into it here, but I bet it would be pretty simple using an Xterra/Frontier rear end and leaf springs since they share platforms.

Now that I think about it an M226 with stock e-locker on a R51 would be LEGIT! Its what the R51 Off-Road should have been.

Well that is certainly an option, but I think swapping diffs just to have a selectable locker is overkill. I don't think ARB has released the 3.54&down R230 locker yet (still waiting on 50 orders) so I would still be waiting. And sinking roughly $3k+ in the rear end which I could probably do a M...
