I had the same problem years ago. It is the exhaust pipe hitting the floor right above the frame where the rear differential is housed. Basically the last clamp on the exhaust needs to be loosened and the pipe twisted so it has a little more clearance from the floor. There is a TSB about it somewher...
I think I found the problem. I left a plug loose when I changed out the cam position sensors. One of the plugs wasn't clicked on all the way and was making intermittent contact.
I kinda feel like a dummy. Live and learn I guess.
On the advise of a mechanic friend of a friend (you know how that goes...) I changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor. It was cheap and easy to eliminate, so I changed it out this morning. No change in symptoms. It was worth a chance. I will look into the TSB, I won't be able to get it scanned until m...
My 2005 Pathfinder with 94,000 miles is failing me right now. Here are my symptoms: 1. I am getting the cam position sensor (bank 1) code. 2. I have both SLIP and VDC lights on. 3. the pathy starts very reluctantly, cranks for 4-5 seconds before starting, when cold, much longer when hot (sometimes I...
I noticed you're from MN (cold). I get an annoying rattle in the wiper/air intake area at the base of the windshield also. I tracked my noise to a piece of ice rattling around in there. This has happened at least a couple times a year to my truck during winter. Has it happened to you in warmer weath...
The recent dome light thread reminded me of this. Is there any way to turn the dome lights behind the front seat on other than opening the door? From the drivers seat I mean. Every vehicle I have owned you could turn the head light switch farther or the dimmer switch or something to turn all the dom...
I would just put normal non slotted rotors on with good pads. I put EBC slotted rotors on and I don't really like them. I get some noise from them when stopping from high speed or when they get hot. They don't seem much better than my old rotors. Get good pads though! I use EBC green stuff pads. I l...
what rpm did your whine come in at? I also have a whine, mine popped up about two weeks ago. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the engine down from the alternator/ power steering pump area. But it only happens at lower rpms and typically, but not always is louder after the truck warms up...
I removed my rear seat about a year and a half ago. I just cut some 3/4 inch MDF into the appropriate shape to fit flush with the existing floor. I supported it with some 2x4's cut to the correct length in strategic places, mainly in the middle to prevent sag. out on the very edges the floor (by the...
170 bucks is crap. It shouldn't be anywhere near that. Get it away from the stealership and take it to local mechanic or do it yourself. It's a good idea to turn rotors to true them and get a nice surface for the new pads to bed into. But it also makes the rotors thinner and more likely to warp. Unl...
