I had the same problem years ago. It is the exhaust pipe hitting the floor right above the frame where the rear differential is housed. Basically the last clamp on the exhaust needs to be loosened and the pipe twisted so it has a little more clearance from the floor. There is a TSB about it somewher...

I think I found the problem. I left a plug loose when I changed out the cam position sensors. One of the plugs wasn't clicked on all the way and was making intermittent contact.

I kinda feel like a dummy. Live and learn I guess.

Just leave it bypassed, I've been towing with mine bypassed for 60K miles it will be fine.

Never replaced mine in 80k miles. Still no leaks. Replacement is overated I think. Cheap insurance I guess though.

170 bucks is crap. It shouldn't be anywhere near that. Get it away from the stealership and take it to local mechanic or do it yourself.
