Re: A love letter to my Pathfinder!

Well, to "keep up" I have other cars. And gas is way too expensive, anyway for those shenanigans in a 5000lb truck :D But you're right, there is no comparison. My folks have an older V8 runner that probably has a significant torque advantage over mine. I looked for another pathfinder for a...

Re: A love letter to my Pathfinder!

We moved to a 2018 4Runner last fall. The V6 R51 was accumulating a fair list of work and at 330.000 it wasn't worth sinking more and more money in to it. I have to say that the Runner is a "better" truck. It is better built, with much higher quality materials, and finished much nicer. A l...

Re: Any high mileage R51's out there with little problems?

Ended up selling the R51 V6 with 330.000km on it. Started to have wear and tear issues. Fixed rust a couple of times. Plastic components in the engine bay started to fail. Replaced the heater core with pump and lines and everything, and because of the dual-zone climate control in the LE that turned ...

I solved a few small issue thanks to this forum. Not as busy as a year or two ago, but lots of good stuff in the archives.

Have you had a dead battery recently? Mine did the same after I boosted the car. Did a reset, drove it for a few km's and it's fine now.

For a big car, I like it. I liked to drive my parents '98 4-Runner more because of the seating position, but as a functional car, the Pathy is about as good as I can find. There's a few things I'd like to have that the pilot I was looking at has in regards of cubbies, storage and creature comfort. B...

PA, Pennsylvania? I'd love to see the rims, but I'm in southeastern Ontario.

I used to admin several large car forums (30K active users) and traffic on all of those has slowed to a trickle. It's not just the age of the cars. Everyone has moved over to FB. Which sucks, because it's unusable in the context that's useful to us, and practically unsearchable as well.

There may very well be a difference between EU and UK headlights as well, but I can't confirm that. I know from other car brands that you cannot simply install right hand drive headlights, because they're pointing in the wrong direction, and that cannot always be adjusted.

Interesting. I never noticed they get different headlights in Europe.
I've swapped Euro lights on other cars before, and if it's anything like that, it will be a bolt-on affair. Manufacturers don't tend to change a lot for plugs and tabs if they don't absolutely have to.

So strange. I've found the exact opposite opinions when I went looking for comparisons between the BFG and Duratracs. I couldn't decide, so I let the first good deal I came across decide for me. Having put on the 265/70/17 Duratracs put on this monday. Got them at a 30% discount. I'm just very sad t...

Glad I found this thread. I'm having similar squatting issues with mine, to the point where I've worn the rear inner tires bald about a quarter of the width in. They need replacing overall anyway, but there's a very significant difference, and I don't want to ruin my brand new Duratracs.
