Today I have just had the following thing happen. My Nav screen did not light up as normal it just displayed 'Please wait' and then after about three minutes it displayed 'Secure'.
Also the radio has stopped working!
All the fuses are good and I have tried the disconnect the battery trick.

Might be a pulley Take belt off and spin each pulley or alternator All components connected directly to engine (everything you can see) stop immediately the engine stops. Engine noise
Whilst on tickover I can hear a low grumbling noise like a bearing failing. then when I switch off the engine it continues for two or three seconds after the engine stops.
