Torque converter with incorrect stall can make the tranny run hot. Im thinking its an oil or torque converter issue. Everything has been replaced except the valve body in which the soft parts were changed and tested. I have the Bully Dog installed. I thought about the sensor but the transmission ru...

I have the Bully Dog installed.

I thought about the sensor but the transmission runs at around 190 in town. It is just under load (400 - 500lbs in the back) when going up long steep hills.

I think there was info on someone asking if their radiator was original or already replaced somewhere in this forum. I second the aftermarket trans cooler might not be working as it should. If i had to redo mine i would go with CSF aluminum radiator so i could run the trans lines to it. Thanks. I t...

Did you get rid of the factory auxiliary cooler? It looks small but is very effective. If you put in aftermarket, it may not have the same hear rejection rate as the factory cooler. Most aftermarket coolers I've seen are no where near as good as the factory cooler we have. Also, if you've replaced ...

Thanks for the suggestions. I never thought about a crimped hose or restrictive flow.

@disallow Yes sir I have a bypass. One of the first things I checked when I read about the problem. When they rebuilt the transmission they mentioned there was no evidence of water mixing with the ATF.

Transmission Overheating

As the subject heading states I have a overheating transmission. Under normal condition the transmission doesn't over heat i.e. City driving, flat road etc. It only overheats under load (towing, full load in the back etc) when going up a hill. On a few occasions the truck went into limp mode. I have...

I had a slight whistling sound. You had to listen hard to hear it, but it was there. I have about 87K on the clock I just got mine back today. Cost was a tad under $2K but I literally had everything done. New o-rings, crankshaft front seal, chains, tensioner, pump etc. The work was carried at a Niss...

@peterpeterson this is currently what I have on my Pathy http://www.4x4parts.com/i-18915779-deluxe-competition-suspension-package-with-bilstein-shocks.html I haven't had a problem with the above setup. The front has been great. It is only the rear, BUT that is with everything loaded for overlanding ...

Interesting, my front not a problem, the rear did need machining. Mine is a 2008 V6

Steve is a good guy as is Kenny. They did the front and rear locker install for me.

Interesting point you made about OME. Ironically I have the 4x4parts rear spring and I'm not that impressed. Compared to the standard suspension it is however like chalk and cheese. Everything I have read about the OME HD spring pushes the IRS to 2.5-3.0 inches which I believe is the max for our sus...

Thanks. I will adding two ARB roller draws and the Wilco rear hitch tire carrier (not to mention my usual load when overlanding). I hope the OME HD Springs will compensate for that extra load/weight. I do expect some sagging after settling. I just hope it's not too much. Did you have much problems w...

Rear Suspension Feedback

Hi all, I would like some feedback. I will be redoing my rear suspension. I currently have medium rear springs with Bilsteins HD shocks and airlift 1000 bags. While the bags have helped I still have sagging when loaded and towing a trailer (#3500). My upgrade would be OME HD Springs and Radflo 2.0 w...
