Heh, true. They told me what the results were, but I can't remember what they said exactly, and I can't seem to find the slip of paper they gave with the results. I'll see if I can get it tested again.

Thanks for the replies! I don't have the NAVI screen, so I may have to find a scanner, but this is something new. Doesn't seem like it should be something that randomly changed. The battery was just tested when I got the oil changed. They did say it didn't test correctly, especially since the batter...

Electronics staying on

I have a 2005 Pathfinder. When I turn off the ignition, the radio stays on for several seconds even after I remove the key. I've also noticed twice now that the headlights are staying on for much longer (at least around 30 minutes I believe, but probably indefinitely). Any suggestions?

Thanks for the replies! After posting last night I checked around online and found the recall. I had high hopes that that was the problem, so this morning I checked the battery connection, tried a different set of keys, and failing those, I had it towed to the dealership to have the recall performed...

Pathfinder Died...

So I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to post this, but when I tried to post in the general 2005 Pathfinder forum, it stated that only moderators were allowed to post... So...tonight I was trying to drive home. I started the car and made it about 100 yards or so before the Service Engine Soo...

Yes, surprisingly the level looked fine. It did look like the radiator cap had leaked some. I took it off and put it back on. Could it possibly have come loose and caused it to lose pressure?

Sudden Overheating with changes in Oil Pressure

Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm not very adept with forum searches. Day before yesterday, I was waiting at a coffee stand with the air conditioner going pretty high though it wasn't particularly hot outside. Just before driving off, I noticed a very strong smell of antifreeze. The air condi...

Sorry to not respond to the replies till now. Things have been a bit crazy around here. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a try and get back later...

U1000 Error Code

So I was driving along the other day and I first noticed the VDC and Slip lights were on and then noticed the service engine light was on. Thanks to the help of one of you, I tried to get the diagnosis code from the dash, but was confused by the result so I decided to go ahead and take it to an Auto...

Diagnostic Codes

I'm sure this has been done to death, but a quick search on the site didn't give me any help.

I just had my check engine light come on. The VDC and SLIP lights both came on as well. Is there any way to find the diagnostic code without getting an OBDII scanner?

We had a warm spell yesterday (over 60) and the gas mileage started to creep up. Today we had snow again and the mileage started to drop (of course, there was also a lot of wind). I have a feeling though, the temperature is indeed the problem as some much more knowledgeable than I have suggested...

I found the heater pump and followed the hose that went to the firewall and didn't see what I thought I was looking for. However, I just did a search on google for bleeder nipples and apparently I was definitely looking for the wrong thing. Now, the question is, even if I find one which I could have...

Tech, being a relative idiot with cars, where exactly is that bleeder nipple? I have no idea which hose is the heater hose, but I have a 2005 and figure it would be good to know even if I fixed my immediate problem...

I was just about to post the same question. My gas mileage has gradually dropped (from about 18 to 15, so not as drastic). I know nothing has been different as far as the actual driving goes (same style driving and reset the MPG readout several times)...

I wish I had seen the post about the radiator cap a few months ago. I'd been avoiding bleeding my system because that kind of thing makes me nervous and I live at an apartment complex. I suffered through a couple of miserable months before succumbing to going to a PepBoys. The guy was really backed ...
