Thanks to you folks for the great info. I haven't siphoned fuel on the Pathfinder, but on other vehicles I have used a cheap fluid transfer pump ($15+-) from Harbour Freight (they're also at any auto parts store, Meijer, etc.) to drain fuel tanks. The gas eats the cheap plastic ones, but I get a cou...

Good to know front replacement can be done, if done right. Thupertrooper is right about finding the parts(rears), I started looking and gave up after awhile. Not seeing them without more digging. A friend with a lift and oxy-acetelene is a good friend! Game changer. 237k is awesome, very possible to...

Greetings. Looking at same on mine rear + front. They can be replaced w/o replacing the conrol arms, but it's risky. They are pressed into thin steel on the control arms, and if not done dead nuts on you're looking at a potentially very dangerous situation; i.e. joint separating from the arm. New ar...

Shipfixer: hope you're outta the woods on this one. Great info with the DataScanII, hope to be able to add live data to my aresenal if the credit card ever cools down, (had to delay suspension AGAIN) That clarified some convoluted/conflicting info I was coming across last fall when I was debating if...

Grm3: I had similar noise last year, was hopeful wasn't T-chains because it would quiet down after warming up, like yours. (136k mi) Then last November it remained noisy and the sound got louder. Then I knew that the borrowed time was about up; timebomb. Tip-toed for about 400 mi like that, avoiding...

Thanks for your reply. Ah, good ol' 303. I've used that for 20+ years on my CJ5, just the soft top, seats and vinyl dash pad as needed. It does need refreshed from time to time, but I've found it to be a great product if one can stay ahead of the vinyl-fading-UV- monster.. Never tried it on plastic ...

Great post as always. Thanks for the info, looks awesome! I've had the cowl and step pad parts (as well as black trimmed new headlights) for a year now, and now that I've gotten through some major mechanical issues (amongst them T-chains the latest; priorites!!) I hope to finally install them. Still...

Moog tie rods

Hello. I had my tie rods done in December (Moog problem solver) and mine really seeped also. These parts have what's called "gusher bearings", and a special grease boot that allows you to flush old grease out when you service them.(comes out of the top of the boot) My problem was that I ov...

Still in love

Weclome! I just passed my 1year anniversary owning my 08SE and despite having to work out some major bugs (most recently timing chains, you shouldn't have to deal with that,2012 is a great Pathfinder year) I am even more in love with this truck. I think you'll really enjoy it! You're in the right pl...

Update?

Greetings. Any updates? Heck this reply is late so you probably fixed it by now buuuut... I was wondering what the battery voltage is when it's running. My experience is that it should be between about 13.5-15 (about 12.5 with engine off) VDC, depending on the load. That's been the norm on my vehicl...

Great find

Awesome thread, thanks for sharing! WOW!! That's now on the list, may really need it someday. That extra range would make all the difference. Fuel capacity has always been a concern, even with jerry cans. Thanks to the OP also!!

08 cabin filter cover

I'm posting this to maybe save others some time and hassle. My 08 SE seems to be at the very point of the 07-08 production changes overlap. (Mines' production date is 08-2007). Searching for parts I have learned that most part #s cross over, however some fall through the cracks between 07 and 08, su...

C- Thank you for your reply. I'm positive you're right, I just over-think things. To me (this is the shade tree engineer in me) it doesn't make sense to place a drain tube that is already prone to clogging right next to a spinning tire, that slings dirt and whatever else right onto/into its terminus...

Took awhile for me on this one too. Thanks for the tips! Check all of the sunroof drain hoses and channels. I couldn't find much info about them in FSM (Which I've been finding alot of info is different than what's actually on my 08 rig). On mine there are 2 drain holes/tubes at front corners of sun...
