Re: Need help with towing

^what he said. I towed 3000 pounds plus loaded vehicle over the BC Rockies passes a few years ago. 4th is the way. (Apologies to any Mandelorians on here) Fuel consumption takes a beating, but temps don't increase much. Towing performance, considering it's "just" a V6 is pretty impressive ...

Re: P1744 and Scared the Piss out of me

I think that was me? Had the TCM out and soldered a metal track back together. Different codes though (P1757 front brake solenoid). The intermittent nature of your issue may point to a broken contact? If you have the means to drop the transmission pan it's pretty easy to check. Not an expert, just g...

Re: P1757 / P1759

Yes, I reinforced the solder with copper strands... don't want to repeat that job anytime soon!

Re: P1757 / P1759

With money  The local Nissan dealer was the only shop willing to pull out the TCM. They charged 3 hours at the usual shop rate plus a transmission service, but I still saved a pile over replacement. The tech who does their transmission work immediately knew what I was up to  Shout ou...

P1757 / P1759

I'm not sure if this issue is as common knowledge as it should be? (I searched!) Background: 2006 SE with 300 000 km goes into transmission limp mode, stuck in 4th. Codes P1757 shows up (soon followed by P1759) indicating front brake solenoid circuit issue in the TCM. Google led me to this: https://...

ABS wheel sensor polarity ...say what now?!

I've learned a bit about the R51 wheel sensors (not by choice) and thought I'd resurrect this old thread to share. Problem first started during a heavy snow fall. Driving I hit a bump. ABS, VDC and SLIP all came on immediately, followed shortly by the 4x4 light. The 4x4 status indicator LCD also wen...

Hi All, 06 Pathfinder with almost 300 000 km. I call it the "bonus" level. It has many dented panels, some rust, air bags, and Duratrac tires. It's my "bush beater" but runs well (mostly). It also suffers from a seized rear latch due to rear window gasket failure, and a seized sp...
