Re: What does Nissan call the lower engine spash shield?

On my 2005 that's what I have, the front shield as yours, nothing else. Nissan Parts Deal shows this. Part # 50810-EA00A Only thing I can find for Frontier is this Cover-Under Engine 50842-7S000 Not sure this is what you had under your Xterra. They looks like skid plates (4 of them0, and show that t...

Re: Vertical screen

I've installed the Sony XAV in mine and it works pretty well. It has the Car Play and Android Auto built in. It also has the backscreen colour that very closely matches Nissan so at night it all looks OEM. I have the BOSE head out of it. I've been looking for vertical "Tesla" screen in the...

Nice.

I've got mine to do, when it gets a bit warmer.

I think you were replacing the rear cradle? In what shape were the bushings?

Re: Auto Transmission Question

Couldn't find anything to contradict it. Tricky to commit to installing anything other than the year of the vehicle. The logistics in finding the differences would have to be made on a spreadsheet. I started the process, but it will take some time. Personally, I think the main difference is the TCU ...

Re: 2022 Frontier = R51 Pathfinder Possibilites?

You know. I had switched to a Ford Escape as a company car for a short period to time, it drove me mad. Between a stop sign and the first turn, it seems the damn transmission shifts up 5 times. I wasn't a real fan of it, but as it was a 4 cylinder, this might be a way to gain for performance. Not su...

Re: My New Pathfinder!!!!!

You know for the condition of the vehicle this is money well spent. When I think about costs, I keep telling myself that if I went out and bought a Japanese V8 SUV, I'd be forking a lot of money. The best thing about these trucks are their longevity The newest generation Frontier went pretty much un...

2022 Frontier = R51 Pathfinder Possibilites?

Interesting to see the 2022 Frontier. Same Frame Same suspension new power steering to update the old for better on center feel (which is big beef I have with my R51). new hydraulic body mounts to update the old for better vibration and ride... new interior dash and seats.. new drivetrain that has b...

Re: Help! rear suspension too rusted up to install shocks!

Right...the V8. I forgot about it. I might be a couple of weeks out myself on it - have to get all pumped up - as I'm doing this myself. It's funny. Doing the repairs on the truck myself is a blessing and a curse. Blessing if you have the time and space. Curse as you can never be happy with someone ...

Re: Help! rear suspension too rusted up to install shocks!

I'm using salvage yards recently for anything compatible with my 2005. Car-Part.com is saving me hundreds of dollars. They have useful tools for matching up parts easily. Ironically, I just caught up to some posts today on this, and thought I would mention.... The place I found through Car-Part.com ...

Question on steering wobble - is it normal?

Question on steering wobble when fully turning. When turning fully to the right or left, let's say the car seems / or the wheel "wobbles" for what it seems a whole "flunk". There is no clunk or noise, it just feels like your tire went over a speed bump, let's say when turning int...

Re: Wheel Hub

Ironically, I replaced mine with Frontier 2019 spindles this past weekend, and it went well. $100 plus taxes for two of them with warranty. Those damn connectors. I used a small pick, and got them unplugged with a lot of careful tugging. .. but then I thought "why didn't i use the CRC contact c...

Re: Wheel Hub

For budget considerations: Take a look at Car-Part.com in your area, you might get lucky on a 2019/2020 Frontier with low clicks. They sell the front spindles with the hubs for probably ~$50-60. According to them, the 2019 are good for 2005 R51. You would basically know that they are good if they ca...

Auto Transmission Question

What would be, if any compatibility problems exist, in installing a Frontier 2017+ salvage transmission into a 2005? I'm certain that my torque converter is on the way out, and will have to look at replacing it. For the cost, a salvage tranny is probably $500 more, with ~30k miles on it, and it come...

Clay bar your windshield before the winter season and do it every 4 months.
