Re: P1744 and Scared the Piss out of me

Well I'm dropping the pan this weekend, no time this week. I've been driving carefully on city roads all week and no issues...until today. So, I have had the code 1774 pop up again just on my way home. !st time it happened since Saturday. I literally moved from a stop to 2 km/h and the code popped u...

Re: P1744 and Scared the Piss out of me

Thank you. I'll be dropping it this morning and hope to find something obvious (pins or contacts are broken) and put humpty dumpty back together. I've ordered in a solenoid kit for this as a backup, in case it is the low coast solenoid that's gone bad. Based on some forum information, mine is a high...

P1744 and Scared the Piss out of me

So, I'm driving along on cruise control at 100 kmh on the highway and bang! Engine winds up to 7000 rpms and the truck is suddenly on a steady decent stuck in 2nd gear. Pulled over to see a P1744 code. Needless to say it scared the piss out of me that it would happen on high speed, placing the truck...

Re: Heated Seat - element question on Nissan Part #'s

I was planning on getting the elements from a Patty from salvage if the cost is high for a proper one from Nissan. I actually have found a donor in salvage, and was planning on taking the elements out of the seats and the switches. I'm hoping the wire looms are all pre-wired for heated seats in my S...

Heated Seat - element question on Nissan Part #'s

Is there an actual Nissan part number that references the heated seat elements?
Wondering on the cost of these, if I wanted to install them.

So far I've tried to look for them, I can't seem to find any part #s for these that can be purchased.

As I just mentioned, they are NOT monitored by the ECM, so, "no," they will not trigger the check engine light if you hollow them out. I replaced mine with DT mid-pipes and no issues.
DT mid pipes...what is das?

Re: Downstream CAT question on 4.0

I browsed there, and saw the same...exhaust tube.... Resonator at the back, tail of muffler...you look up RockAuto...they are under Catalytics... Went to the Walker website... direct fit catalytic...16400...16399.... O2 sensor installation is pre catalytic...converter quantity 1. Very expensive for ...

Downstream CAT question on 4.0

Are the downstream CATs, actually CATs? I took it to the dealer and the lead mechanic stated they are not CATs, but resonators? Is this true? Just trying to isolate some noise in the exhaust and wondering if these are resonators that anyone has replaced or investigated for noises / failures. Thank y...

Re: Dash Squeak - Climate Control

Thank you for the input!

I will try to open up things and get at it with a stethoscope or something, through the centre dash.
It's always squeaking, an sounds like a Star Trek communicator, when moving between positions.

Re: P0430 cat replacement

I did this job recently (replaced both). You do not need Nissan CATs, but they will work (of course!) I've installed a Walker on the passenger side, and an Eastern on the driver's side. I had codes for both sides, and both codes cleared with the different manufacturer CATs installed. The codes clear...

Dash Squeak - Climate Control

Anyone have this problem? When moving the climate control option around between zones (defog, feet, face, there is an obvious squeak while the damper is moving around. Sounds like two rubbing foam pieces against each other. After turning off the truck, maybe after 30 seconds,I'm guessing the damper/...

Re: P1283 Assist

Ok. Took to the dealer and it was exactly that. Because the A/F sensors were reconnected, the code was simply reset and did not come back - its been off since a few days. Exhaust noise - incredible resolve. the hangers on the muffler were the culprit. I couldn't believe it. The mere loosening of the...

Re: P1283 Assist

Thank you! I installed an Eastern Cat on Driver side and a Walker on the Passenger side. The F/A sensors I installed were indeed Denso. Intake air leak - I did not check...but the rubber bellow..I will check them again. What's odd, and I should have added...when the car is in neutral the noise doesn...

P1283 Assist

Recently installed new CATs and new A/F sensors. Took it took a muffler shop to get new studs and bolts on the connecting flanges on the rear CATs, as there were some leaks at the flanges when I tested it after about a month of driving. After the visit to the muffler shop, I'm getting this code, P12...
