Re: J-48761 Timing Chain and Tensioner Work Coming

20 hours - what a marathon! That is truly fortune smiling on you, on finding out the tensioner was faulty. I'm scheduling it for this weekend after getting the remaining parts in from Nissan. I wonder if you took any pictures of the innerds? It's one of, if not the most interesting things, I'm wonde...

Re: Rear lift Gate Hatch

Assuming you have inspected the mounting and tried adjustments. Is the beige slider piece, not the white plastic piece, inside the latch housing intact. Not cracked or split/broken? I think some have reported or I've seen posts elsewhere, where folks have seen this split. If it is, latch needs to be...

Re: New stereo with Apple Carplay

Nice! This unit looks like a good value. I looked up the LRV feature on this. Looks interesting. Compared to my older XAV-AX100 unit, these are really adding a ton of technology. I'm fortunate that Android Auto has pushed as many updates as they have, to keep up to these new head units, as much poss...

Re: 2012 Pathfinder losing power under acceleration: V6

My Mistake!!

This fella found it in a Nissan Frontier, but it's my mistake.

Not the PNP, it's the stop lamp switch. Claims no codes, etc. Broken tail lamp.

Re: 2012 Pathfinder losing power under acceleration: V6

I actually saw something on another Nissan that caused loss of power under acceleration. The rear brake light bulb caused it. The filament/bulb was broken(inside), and it caused an occasional short and the ECU thought the PNP switch triggered. Caused the vehicle to go into a temporary limp mode. It ...

Excellent! I knew there had to be something to go there.

Love that Silverton Blue(?). A great colour for the R51.

Re: Clicking Sounds

clicking, doesn't immediately make me think of suspension. Noises need to be isolated to make sense of them, or you will wind up driving yourself mad trying to find them. It makes me think of the heat shields attached to the exhaust / cross pipe, and those clamps that hold them, rusting out of snapp...

===================================== @VStar650CL thank you for the link! ==================================== For Canadian buyers ..the service from this website is incredible. Re: Auto Transmission Question

Whoops! I didn't realize there was a follow up response / questions. Yes. I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier transmission running in my 2005. It came off of a Pro-4X with some 28k. I swapped over the TCM from the old to the 2019 - no problems. What I did do - was - I tried using the 2019 valve body and t...

Re: J-48761 Timing Chain and Tensioner Work Coming

I decided to purchase the tool. Here is the updated link as they do not reference themselves as Nissantechmate any longer, but both web links function. https://www.techmatetools.com/ Part # NI-48761 Oddly, I could not register an account - as both website links have a bug in it - in ordering anythin...

Thank you so much for the fast feedback. This is awesome. I will look into the link.

Never thought of the zip ties. Brilliant.
Oil pressure building is another one that just would not pop into a head of a novice like me on a job like this!

J-48761 Timing Chain and Tensioner Work Coming

Well, secondary timing tensioners have started making noise and have to perform the TSB work on it. NTB09-128a Where does one find that ring gear tool J-48761. Or has anyone found a reliable method to keep everything from moving around without the tool? Thank you for any insight / help. EDIT: I'm ju...

Re: Rear lift Gate Hatch

Finally installed. Wow. These are fantastic. I had M6 threaded connectors on my older ones, so I had to order through Amazon a kit of 4 M8 for this little project. I did order the 225 lb version and they are just right (for me) as I've added weight to the hatch for sound deadening. It isn't hard at ...

Re: Odometer Display Disappeared

you didn't state if you tried to drive it and restart it? The mileage is kept in the display...if what I recall from Xterra forums. You have power on the display - meaning - do other gauges works in the display cluster, and is the display lit up orange, with no data, etc. long shot, but did you hold...
