Re: Front CV Axle Replacement

Most aftermarket manufacturers try to "universalize" their parts as much as possible, using interchangeable subassemblies which may not be identical to the OE part on a particular model, but still fit and do the job. That's probably what you have there. So long as there's no interference, ...

Re: Carbon on o2 sensor

There's no real equivalent to a P0101 on older stuff, so P0100 covers a multitude of sins, open, short, and malperformance. The ECM can't tell you which, but a voltmeter generally can. Check it against the specs in the FSM, you may actually have a wiring issue and not a bad MAF. Not that cleaning th...

Re: Carbon on o2 sensor

Except for the P0100, those are all codes for the O2 sensor heaters. Make sure you didn't blow fuse #25 during replacement, that supplies all four heaters. If the fuse is good then I'd say the most likely cause is the wrong parts. Dunno what brand you bought, but if they aren't Denso, NTK, or Hitach...

Re: Carbon on o2 sensor

Carbon-plugged O2's really only come from one thing, running unnecessarily rich. That can have a number of causes. Check your short and long term fuel trims to start, that will give you a clue. If the trims read negative then you have excess fuel coming in from somewhere and the ECM is trying to com...

Re: Tailgate won't open. Any suggestions?

Aargh, some of them don't have one. The part pic for yours shows one, but I guess not on your vehicle. If you can reach the arm where the cable attaches with a hook or finger, try pulling up hard on it. The actuators on R51's are in the window latch mechanism and connect to the hatch lock with a cab...

Re: Tailgate won't open. Any suggestions?

IIRC there should be a little removable panel at the base of the back door trim panel, and an emergency release lever accessible through it. If the release lever opens it then chances are you just have a stretched or loose cable which isn't pulling the cam far enough to release the latch. If the eme...

Re: 05 Pathfinder LE - Replacement Rear Cupholder Parts

I'd think a hair dryer would work just fine. You just want to warm it up, it's not like you want to melt it. You put the WD at the hinges, the molded hinge pins are what double as snaps to hold the assembly in.

Re: 05 Pathfinder LE - Replacement Rear Cupholder Parts

It does just pop out, but if the plastic is embrittled then you're right to be worried about it. Try applying a little WD and then warming the part up at a distance with a heat gun, a little warmth and lubrication will make it less apt to break.

Re: 05 Pathfinder LE - Replacement Rear Cupholder Parts

Yep, like I said, indications are that any of those numbers should work fine. The OP just needs the ZP00A and not the ZP00C for the color match.

Re: 05 Pathfinder LE - Replacement Rear Cupholder Parts

The ZS prefix isn't standard and I suspect it may have been created explicitly for the bulletin. The bulletin says '05 in the applied MY's, and frankly, bulletin part numbers are never wrong. Bulletins all get filed with NHTSA and the bureaucratic costs of creating one are very high, even for someth...

Re: 05 Pathfinder LE - Replacement Rear Cupholder Parts

The parts guys tell me there is a service file, but there's a little confusion about the application. I think it applies when replacing the rear finisher and not the cupholder. Anyway, it turns out the part you want is 96965-ZS00A. Here's the bulletin, NTB09-145: NTB09-145 Pg1.jpg NTB09-145 Pg2.jpg ...

I have more complaints,... but I should stop.
I guess I don't need to tell you this is what happens when you have a one-party politburo instead of a two-party legislature.

Now I should stop, the NSA is probably listening. :!:

Re: The Price of Gas

It was 5.50 the other day at a costco here in silicon valley. a full tank of regular in the pathfinder is 100$. Not fun. It seems CA gas is always 1-2$ more than the rest of the country because... all the taxes and the regulations against refineries and gas. My understanding is that CA is a capture...

Re: 05 Pathfinder LE - Replacement Rear Cupholder Parts

The original p/n for cafe latte was 96965-EA000, that's why the ZP part isn't showing up as fitting your '05. However, it's a supersession, the ZP part will fit. BUT, the ZP00C is definitely the wrong color, it's graphite. You need the ZP00A, that's latte.
