Re: 1987 pathfinder transcooler lines

I see in the other post that it's a VG30 RWD. Looks like I misread the diagram, on blowing it up the banjoes are both parallel. The attachment tab in here still doesn't work, but here's a link to the parts diagram with the approximate locations highlighted: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12XzDdLXDF...

Re: 92 Pathfinder

Next step: > I just ordered and received 6 injectors. Hitachi injectors for Nissan. I searched around to find OEM ones but at a decent price. I'll try to schedule time to swap them out. I'm not comfortable doing the job (plenum, manifold etc) myself yet so will find someone with experience. Hitachi...

Re: 1987 pathfinder transcooler lines

Exact location depends on the engine, RWD/4WD, and 3-spd or 4-spd, but the parts drawings show both fittings are banjos on the lefthand side on all models, one aft of the bellhousing and the other just forward of the trans mount. On the VG30 RWD 4-spd the front banjo is perpendicular to the tranny a...

Re: Blower motor when cold.

The dashpad isn't rocket science, just a lot of work, and the actuator is two phillips head screws once you get at it. On an older ride the real issue is due care, because all that dash plastic gets brittle. Use someone who's trustworthy and circumspect, and be forgiving if something cracks anyway. ...

Re: Blower motor when cold.

That isn't good, the R51's Mix Door Servo (or driver's mix if your system is Auto) is mounted on top of the HVAC housing and requires removing the dashpad to replace.

Re: Blower motor when cold.

R51 Pathies are easy, 3 screws for the blower and it's right behind the glove box. The VBC is right there with it. Frontiers and Xterras use the same setup.

Re: Blower motor when cold.

It's unlikely the VBC (resistor) is causing the problem (although not impossible, cold solder joints can cause that sort of behavior). More likely the motor bearings or brushes are sticky. Replace the motor first, if that doesn't do it then check for corroded or overheated connections before replaci...

Re: From R51 to N50; life must go on!

Those are cool wheels, they'll look good on your X. :D Yeah, they'd probably work with spacers, but I'm not a big fan of spacers. Wheels got shipped out via FedEx this morning, anyway! Heck no, I meant the new Frontier wheels. They're very angular and not particularly "Nissanish", I loved...

Re: Stmble on a slight hill

This tells us what the markups are at the dealer, since Hitachi is the OEM part and Rock auto also has them marked up a bit. Dealer overhead is what it is. You don't want to know how much money is tied up just in the "required hand tools" in our toolroom. The Parts Department has similar ...

Re: Stmble on a slight hill

Nope, they're all 1-screw R&R's. The CKP is accessed through the passenger wheel well, so the truck needs to be lifted. The CMP's are on the back of each head, awkward to reach but not difficult.

Re: Stmble on a slight hill

Well, stay away from the Zone, but Hitachi, NTK and Denso make most of Nissan's OE Hall sensors, so they're all acceptable substitutes provided they're genuine. You want to avoid China-cheap and be aware of counterfeits, so known-reputable vendors like RockAuto are a much better idea than eBay.

Re: From R51 to WD40; life must go on!

Sweet ride! You're right, I don't know why they didn't make more Xterras in that blue. They're gorgeous, but I think I've only ever seen two of them. The only one I ever actually worked on was a repaired rollover that somebody stripped half the airbags out of and sold to a poor but witless buyer -- ...

Re: Stmble on a slight hill

It was not just a stumble but the car died at a light. was able to restart but now has a check engine light. the "slip" light is on too, as is the "VBS off" light... Most serious engine codes will make the ECM quit sending an RPM signal to the CANbus, which in turn makes the ABS...

Re: New jordans and few pics from pathy

For a voltage that low after just 10 hours, it smells like a bad battery post (internal disconnect between the plates and one of the posts). Be careful if you take it loose, bad posts can spark inside the battery and cause a hydrogen explosion. Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses and keep your fac...
