Re: Rear lift Gate Hatch

I'll make a separate thread and video once the weather warms up. I know how tricky the plastic is and I don't want to break it in the cold.

Re: Rear lift Gate Hatch

I've also had good luck with the McMaster struts but you have to remember that 2 struts need 4 threaded ends not just 2... While we are one the liftgate subject: Mine rattles like crazy. I've shifted the clasp and latch pieces and tightened them down. I put some white lithium grease inside the latch...

Re: Dead alternator...?

Power steering pump and reservoir also not far above the alternator, look for drips.

Re: Clearcoat Eroded?

Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna slather as much wax on as I can. I have a feeling whatever clean and prep would be needed to spray would remove even more than I want and end up a waste of time.

Re: Clearcoat Eroded?

I think the last micron or two of clear is still left, but it's only enough to shine from 10 feet away. I might try spraying clear over it, or maybe just vinyl wrap if it gets real ugly.

Clearcoat Eroded?

I bought my 2010 used. It's got scratches and dings all over it, but today was the first time I tried to properly wax it. It coated evenly everywhere but the top of the hood. All the paint looked about the same before , but now I notice the center of the hood has a rough texture and it doesn't reall...

Re: I found this very interesting

Cool! How about the little airbag sensor that tells it if there's a passenger?

Re: I found this very interesting

Good catch, I thought they just had tight fitting seat covers but those are whole new seats.

Re: Rebadge

I ended up using clear 3M mounting tape cut to the outlines of the badges. The hamburger will never look that good considering the metal plating was flaking off, but the gray hides it well enough. I removed as much flaking material as I could with a blade, but it seemed better to sand and leave the ...

Re: No tow/haul button…

I have a feeling the combined radiator is a compromise that helps it heat up the transmission fluid faster in cold winters. Maybe it's cheaper to manufacture as well?

Rebadge

The ol PATHFINDER lettering and hamburgers are looking like trash. I'm going to take them off, sand and paint. They will also be rearranged so it will now be the DIRT HEAP! Also, someone with a nicer rig needs to rename theirs DAPHNE RIFT. What sort of adhesive should I use to stick the letters back...

Re: Car Camping

I prefer to set up a tent when I can, but if it's downpouring or we are boondocking it works fine. Probably depends on how tall you are and how many people.

Re: I got the Itch (where should i scratch)

https://www.clubfrontier.org/threads/diy-rubber-hose-replacement-nissan-part-numbers-and-pictures-included.139449/ I've used this as a resource to preemptive replace batches of hoses on an Xterra, and I'm assembling the parts to do the Frontier also. For vacuum hoses, doing the PCV and the one that ...

27mpg Downhill Run

This was my first road trip since putting taller 265/75/16 tires on the Pathfinder S, which already has the tallest gears. Fully loaded then leveled out with airbags, 225 miles and -2400 ft of elevation, nice slow highway along the Lochsa river got me 27.1mpg! Of course it's necessary to go back uph...
