Re: 2011 Radio/climate control unresponsive after stereo removal

Disconnect your battery first, then proceed with caution.

Re: Out of ideas

P0150 may be because of a poor contact in the connector on your driver side pre-cat O2 sensor, which may have only intermittent contact, keeping the system from going into closed loop, as this DTC code indicates You already found poor contact was made better simply by unplugging and then plugging ba...

Re: Serpentine belt confusion YD25DDTi

Yeah. That sounds like metal noise to me as well. The idler pullies' bearings are also possible suspects of the noise. A low cost automotive stethoscope, like VStar mentioned, will pin point the location. A badly worn out bearing on any of the major components (pumps, A/C, alternator) often presents...

Re: Serpentine belt confusion YD25DDTi

Ok changed the belts was pretty easy as in loosen the bolt and release tension, changed both belts will upload diagram for this layout Problem now is belt is squealing now and again when starting any ideas, pulleys all turn by hand (ac alternator) Squeal lasts until over 3000 revs sometimes get a c...

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to take it to a mechanic. I am tempted to see if I have a vacuum leak somewhere if that is the case, not sure how I went from 15 down to 7.
An old timing belt that has been stretched and worn old with age, will retard your timing.

Re: Out of ideas

That's a huge improvement with the STFT for just unplugging and plugging back on the connectors. The harness connector contact pins may need a bit of cleaning with a shot of electrical contact cleaner spray to keep it right. The only other detail I would dial in is the ignition timing advance. At 7d...

Re: Out of ideas

Excellent point. The ECM ignores the O2 sensor signals at start up and until the engine is at operating temperature in closed loop status. If it never achieves closed loop status, that would explain why there are no DTC codes, since the ECM is ignoring the O2 sensors. The scan tool would still see t...

Re: Transmission Noises?

When you replaced the caliper brake pads, did you check to be sure that the caliper guide pins are freely moving and lubricated? If a pin is seized in its bore (typically from rust) the outboard brake pad will behave badly by pulling into the rotor crooked but never quite engaging properly, if at al...

Re: Middle Seat Removal

Whether you cut it off or manage to get the bolt unscrewed from the weld-nut that broke off, fixing it for installation at a later date is easy enough to do with a rivet-nut. It's sort of like a pop-rivet but it's a nut that can be installed where the weld-nut broke off, inserted through the bolt ho...

Re: Out of ideas

Wow! The strangest thing I see from this data is that there are no DTC codes. Given the data indicated, your check engine light should be on and multiple DTC codes flagged. What's most disturbing is that it appears as though all four of your O2 sensors are dead, which should have caused multiple DTC...

Re: Broken spring

To clarify, in the service manual the schematic refers to part #9 as "Rear Lower Link." But this is the same part that my mechanic referred to as the" Rear Lower Control Arm" and also known as the "Coil Bucket," right? These terms are interchangeable? I just want to ma...

Re: Broken spring

Those bolts/nuts may be hard to move if they are rusted from salt. Otherwise, they will come off easy enough with a nice long breaker bar wrench. Hit with a good penetrating lube spray the day before and again just before wrenching on them. Control arm assemblies come with bushings.

Re: Out of ideas

What exactly to you mean by "OBD-2 still indicates lean on the Oxygen sensors"? Does your scan tool indicate fuel trim readings for both banks as a high positive percentage number or a low negative percentage number? What are your STFT and LTFT readings on both banks? Wondering if it was j...

Re: Broken spring

Driving with a broken rear spring and worn rear control arm bushings while towing a trailer is very risky for causing additional damage and potentially dangerous. A "death wobble" is a term that describes an uncontrolled back and forth sway of the rear end due to badly worn out control arm...

Re: Out of ideas

I don't think you need to remove your intake plenum to get at the IACV. I grabbed a couple of images of the IACV on your "97 Pathfinder to give you an idea where to look. These are poor images for any detail but they should help you find it. The engine controls section of the factory service ma...
