Re: Out of ideas

I stand by my first post on this. "The Nissan factory service manual, engine control section, page 25-29, is a good place to start. https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 7%2Fec.pdf Checking the fuel system pressure, fast idle cam inspection and adjustment, and idle speed/ignition timing/i...

R51's are absolutely infamous for corroded positive terminals blowing up ECM's.
 I would never thought ... That's just sad.

Re: ECM Outage?

A bad alternator/voltage regulator that is overcharging the battery will cause lots of corrosion on the positive battery terminal to build up. If you had just recently cleaned it off well and it built back up quickly on that new battery, I would be looking at the alternator first. The ECM may of got...

Re: radiator bypass

That is very strange. Nissan never did issue a recall on those faulty radiators. Consumers are still covering the expense of putting in a radiator bypass, external transmission coolers, and radiator replacements. The dealerships have no mandate to do what you have seen and I doubt a dealership or an...

Re: Out of ideas

Keep in mind what the O2 sensors do. I like to think about them as witnesses to events that have occurred upstream. They do nothing on their own. They only give testimony as they see it and then your PCM decides what to do with that information. O2 sensor 2 on both banks are unique in that no matter...

Re: Out of ideas

You're doing the right things by fixing all those issues because they all work together to operate the engine properly. The root cause of the issue may have multiple contributing factors so getting the basics in good working order will help you resolve the problem. The engine controls rely on severa...

I did put a bolt on the throttle opening ...
No idea what this means. Can you attach a picture of it?

Re: Hesitation

No check engine light but always some hesitation at higher speeds could be a fuel delivery issue when demand is higher. Low fuel pressure from the pump or a faulty fuel pressure regulator, sending too much fuel back to the tank, would give your ride symptoms like a hiccup that feels like a misfire o...

Re: Accelerator linkage SAWP

My '02 pedal lever assembly is very similar to your '97. It's a very simple connection at the end of the pedal lever. There is no hole. It's a fork of sorts that allows you to drop the cable right into the fork opening and then pull lug at the end of the cable into the fork to secure it in place. I ...

Re: throttle no touch screw

I had read a specification years ago for my '02 Pathfinder but couldn't find it again. It was on an Australian website. There is an opening specification of the "fully closed" throttle which requires a precision cylindrical plug gage for measuring the opening. When the throttle valve is fu...

I think it's the fast idle cam thermal element adjustment part.

Re: Stump on idle issue

That EGR valve hose you discovered to be missing is probably the idle issue cause.

Re: Hose replacement help

The original would be a Nissan only part but I found the >$110 price tag from the dealer to be more than it's worth. Part number 14099-0W010 is available from Nissan resellers like Nissan Parts Deal but the cost is still too high. https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-hose-air~14099-0w010.html
