Re: LEGO wheels for sale

Those LEGO wheels do look awesome. I had to search out a picture to satisfy my curiosity.

Re: Speedometer needle under pin

... it’s working good as new. Wow! I'm impressed and I learned something new for a very unusual condition. Thank you for sharing your success and how you achieved it. Knowing how this speedometer functions, I thought the use of a magnet would make sense when I read something about a magnet fix in t...

Re: Speedometer needle under pin

I’m not sure the diagnosis mode is an issue. All meters jump when I follow the procedures. The problem is the speedometer needle has gone all the way around and now cannot jump past the pin at the 0 mark. So ... There is hope. When you wrote "that does not do anything", I assumed the proc...

Re: Emission monitors

Check the vacuum line on the EGR for leaks. 158F isn't even high enough for normal operating temperature. A vacuum leak at the EGR may be preventing a normal startup self-diagnostic routine to complete.

Re: R50 Electrical Quirks and mysteries

Yikes! Too many quirks to know where to begin. However, most have them have the steering column in common. In that, the lights and wiper function switches are all on the steering column. Even the head unit has switches in the steering wheel. I would start by taking the covers off from around the ste...

Re: Speedometer needle under pin

I was curious about this diagnosis mode so I tried it on my '02. If you followed the instructions right in the FSM, the fuel, tach, speedo, and temp gauges should all jump a bit as it enters diagnosis mode. Pressing the odo/trip meter switch again will make the gauge needles all jump again and again...

Re: Clearcoat Eroded?

Yep. A heavy wax, like Meguiar's or Mothers carnauba wax, will help prolong its life.

Re: Clearcoat Eroded?

Looks like mine did before the clear coat started to blister off slowly. That look is the clearcoat already delaminating from the paint. A clearcoat added on top could give it more life before it flakes off.

Re: middle row seat not latching down

Starting on page SE-103, the details of removing this are mapped out in this section of the factory service manual. https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 5%2Fse.pdf

Re: Locktite swirl valves

The thread locker compound is part of the factory assembly process and a critical step in keeping those tiny screws in place. Unfortunately, there was a considerable run of factory produced models where this step was missed on the power valves. Quite some time ago, I had read what models and years w...

Putting it back together is the hard part. The Haynes manual will get you through all the critical assembly steps.

Re: 1998 3.3L VG33E partial dismantle and rebuild

The Haynes Repair Manual, same one I often use for4 my '02 Pathfinder, covers your '98 as well. It is a good resource for "how to" tasks like removing the crankshaft. https://www.amazon.com/Nissan-Frontier-Pickup-Pathfinder-Manuals/dp/1563926105/ "Hand grinding" the crankshaft jo...

Re: Having issues starting my '95 pathfinder

My 93 Pathfinder Manual 5 Speed has intermittent starting issues it's been going on for several months now initially I thought it was the Starter but I decided to chase down other issues first. Once upon a time, I had a '91 XE and a good repair manual that spelled out very well how to test the star...

Re: V8 Tap tap

With age, even well maintained engines will get sticky components. The detergent additives in oils today do well to help reduce build up of varnish on bearings, lifters, rings, etc. but eventually some build up occurs which will cause issues. I have a very well maintained '02 Pathfinder that had the...
