1998 Pathfinder All because my gf likes to honk at fast drivers 😆: Horn stopped working. Isolated to the horn relay and/or relay receptacle wiring. Relay would not come out due to defective receptacle design. If one was to cut the white plastic where you see I deformed it, relay would probably pull ...
So I have the old motor block with intake removed sitting in a tire on a pallet with the crankshaft facing mostly upward so I can access it. Oil pan is off. The motor was yanked because the crankshaft had one or more bad main and rod journals from bearings not spinning, but loose, or not fitted corr...
Horn didn't work. Was relay. But it would not come out. Apparently one of those lifetime relay specials, lol. So I tugged, poked, pryed, and cranked, and whacked it over 2 short sessions. Still, she was not coming out to play. So I tugged harder, and then whacked her harder with vice grips pliers. L...
Howdy. 1998 Pathfinder. Horn is inop. Fuses are good. Horns work with 12v jumper. I tapped on the relay and got it to quickly honk 2 or 3 times with the right tapping. But the relay will not remove! I've tried poking with pick and small flathead screw driver all around all places and tugging pretty ...
1998 Pathfinder 3.3L, automatic, 164,000 miles, stock. Runs real good. So I'm having a recurring P1400 EGRC Solenoid Valve error come back after erasing codes. It reappears almost immediately after being erased. I don't have any operability issues. No other codes but one that came up after I started...
Apparently the ECM is a PITA to access in 1998. Buried under driver side dash connections. See my latest test... 1998 Pathfinder 3.3L, automatic, 164,000 miles, stock. Runs real good. When I tested the Solenoid plug wire for 12v with ignition key on, I used the plug ground wire as ground for voltmeter and got 12v. That ground wire is the control from ECM. It should have been Open and I shouldn't have gotten 12v reading. That's why the tests shown online have the voltmeter ground ...
I have the repeating (after erased numerous times, but no symptoms) P1400 code for 1998 Nissan Pathfinder 3.3, 164,000 miles. It was throwing this same code with an older motor, and still is with replacement motor installed last week. I have 12v at the wire plug when it's unplugged and key on. 12v a...
My 1998 Pathfinder 163,000 miles started to delay shift into 4th/overdrive. Fuid is full and clean. O/D switch doesn't do anything to help it upshift, and it seems to work fine (light comes on when switched). I can get it to shift into 4th by slightly letting off accelerator and then it goes into 4t...
New to me 1998 Pathfinder 3.3L 4x4 SE, 164,000 miles. Used motor swapped. I had a mechanic swap the motor and one of his helpers misplaced a few items. Is there a known fastener reference for Nissans anywhere? This bolt (custom hold lol) was found laying inside the motor bay. Nothing near it holds t...
Yowdy, I'm Willie I like this site but dude are those ads outta control! My Mitsubishi web may be few but we live in style with no pop-ups. My favorite stock SUV are the Monteros 3.8L. I have 2 gen3, and owned 4. Have had all the prior gens too. All used by several owners and with 150,000 mil...
Hello. I have not posted on this site for a while as my Pathy was down. Now the 8 bolts on each end of the front differential that mount it to the frame have been lost with the engine swap. Does anyone know the length, size and thread pitch of these 8 bolts? I think all 8 are identical. I have calle...
