Hello friends. Well, color me HEARTSICK. My beloved Pathfinder has 147,000+ miles on it, and yesterday my mechanic confirmed what I suspected - the transmission is shot. He has been keeping it on life support for a year now, but it's time to make a decision - do I spend $3800 to have the transmissi...
Quick question to add to my options here. Some guys on the Frontier forums did a bunch of digging around about doing a VK55 swap. Do you guys think the 08 Pathfinder VK, wiring harness, and transmission would relatively smooth to drop into an 05? Fairly similar in cost as doing a VQ40 replacement. ...
If the cat material sucked back into the piston, how bad do you think the damage would be? ..............a compression & leakdown test would answer that. That would be my recommendation for the next step. How much would a comparable replacement used R51 be in your region? How much would a used ...
As to the glass lifts from McMaster, they function identically to stock, meaning that they barely work now. If I decide to replace them again, I'm going to up the rate on them. How long did they last? Do you think upping the rate would extend their life? I just installed McMaster-Carr rear hatch an...
We bought not one, but two new 2005 R51s.
The SE-OR has about 62K on it and the SE 2WD about 40K.
As yet, we've never been disappointed with them, and intend to keep them indefinitely.
Transmission issue Hit or miss with some R51 owners. I dont use mine to tow yet. But local owner sold his since it couldnt tow a turtleback camping trailer with the same issue something about tranny overheating. Too bad we don't have the code that it threw available. I tend to think that the proble...
My 2008 PF was like this- really underpowered going up hills and with towing. Discovered the fuel filter was clogged and it just wasn’t getting enough fuel through. Cost me £20 to replace; was the easiest job ever and now it’s like a new truck! It could literally pull a house down do you have ...
So you're saying that there is still the potential for this failure in my vehicle, or is this something I should not be concerned about? As long as the internal transmission cooler is by-passed, utilizing only the external cooler in front of the radiator, there is no possibility of cross contaminat...
So the bypass is just a factory fix for us north americans? That's pretty cool... No. The "bypass" is a post factory (and non factory) fix to eliminate potential transmission damage should the internal transmission cooler inside of the main radiator fail. http://www.thenissanpath.com/view...
