Re: Discontinued Fuel Injector Rubber Spacers

Thank you VStar650CL. I had not considered the possibility that these rubber parts had taken a set, but that is probably the case. Thanks for suggesting that possibility (and probability). I'm going to go ahead with assembly, making sure that the o-rings are new. Thanks again to you and palmerwmd fo...

Re: Discontinued Fuel Injector Rubber Spacers

Thank you. I probably made it sound more complicated than it really is. I provided the numerous photos because a picture is worth a thousand words, etc., but maybe not. As simple as I can explain it: ONE: The most bottom seal against fuel leakage in the Pathfinder fuel injectors is a small o-ring. T...

Re: Discontinued Fuel Injector Rubber Spacers

Thank you very much.
I suppose most Pathfinder owners just re-use the old rubber parts when they replace fuel injectors, but some of my parts seem like the rubber has hardened and it's a lot of work to get to them under the intake manifold if there is a leak.

Hmmmmm... doesn''t seem like anyone else is coming along.
Hasn't anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,

Discontinued Fuel Injector Rubber Spacers

I am replacing all six fuel injectors at the same time on my 1995 Pathfinder. The new injectors come with upper and lower o-rings, but they do not come with the spacer that goes between the injector assembly retaining cap or the spacer that goes in the bottom of the fuel injector holder on the fuel ...

Re: New Sludge Question

Thank you for all your previous advice... just wanted to post a photo of what the engine looked like after circulating solvent with an external 12 volt oil pump. I did a lot of brushing while the solvent circulated. I used mineral spirits first. Then next, Diesel fuel did the best job of dissolving ...

Re: New Sludge Question

So BTW, I checked the part numbers for the valve cover gaskets. I checked at RockAuto since it was quick and easy. The Victor Reinz and also the FelPro numbers for the gaskets are the same even if the Nissan numbers for the valve covers are different. So the 2001 VG33 valve covers will work. Also th...

Re: New Sludge Question

Thanks for the information. I believe the part numbers are different because the oil filler is different (passenger side) and a couple of welded on brackets are different (Driver side). However I was able to determine that the footprint is the same. I don't know if the valve cover gaskets have the s...

Re: New Sludge Question

I've been working on other projects so just getting back to this.I have another question... Will valve covers from a 2001 VG33DE engine fit my VG30E engine?
Thanks in advance for your help and experience.

I'd dunk the covers in chemicals anyway, you want to make sure the space above the baffles is clear. That will be difficult-to-impossible without some gum cutter.
I can do that. Also I have a bore scope so I can look in there to be sure it's clean.

Re: New Sludge Question

My question today is: Do I have to disconnect the steering rod from the Pittman arm in order to lower the oil pan? And a second question is: Besides the cam shaft seals and the front main seal (which I am replacing already) how many other seals are there? If I had a leak in the rear main seal, I wou...

Re: Cam Shaft Seal Grooves - Please give advice!

I just wanted to thank you guys for so mech helpful advice. If you have time, feel free to chime in on a new topic I posted "New Sludge Question." I read many of the sludge posts on this forum, so I sort of understand what to do, but the question is do I need to bother? However it was a ch...

New Sludge Question

Summary - The question is: Is it OK to run an older engine that has a lot of sludge, without cleaning out the sludge. Please share experience and opinions. I have been working on my 1995 Pathfinder engine and ya'll have been very helpful (repeat... Very Helpful... thank you) under the topic Camshaft...

Re: Cam Shaft Seal Grooves - Please give advice!

Hitachi actually makes the OE fuel injectors for these engines, so I would go with them. Thanks smj. I'll replace all six with Hitachi. That inside knowledge will save me about $180.00. I was resigned to buying the Denso brand simply to not take a risk. And per your suggestion I'll replace the fuel...
