Thanks. Started in on it tonight. Removed the console covers and have exposed the shift levers. Will pull the shift lever tomorrow. Need new snap ring pliers. Thanks... It moves between gears no problem when the engine of off. So not internal to the tranny. I plan to drop the transmission in the next two days. this is my first MT effort. Any recommendations? What do I need to watch out for? Any good links to read?

oops... sorry for the breach in protocal. new to this site. there are 4 screws holding this mount in question in place. not sure what is behind these bolts and a bit concerned about removing these without understanding what I'm getting into.

I removed the CV axle assembly from the passenger side. The mounting flange ring (that has the bolt pattern) was fairly dirty. scraped it off, almost like a gasket.
