Could be a small leak on your radiator. I never could find a leak that I had (no drips) after pulling a trailer and getting overheated a couple of years ago. I finally was actually losing a good amount of fluid. I found on the top of the radiator a buildup of the lime from the water I was using and ...
I currently have about 77000 miles on the ole pathy. I noticed the noise probably in 2011/2012 with about 60000+ miles. I am not sure if an issue like that would make a difference but the pathy feels like a whole new beast now! or maybe it's that I have more confidence in actually sticking the pedal...
Just had my timing chain done. What a hit to the wallet! I called around to maybe 10 places in my area and got the lowest price at a DEALER of all places, lol. There is definitely a deficiency in the OEM equipment originally installed. I was getting a very prominent whiny noise from the top right of...
I found that earlier, my bad. Called the company (automotix.com) and gave them the part number which they confirmed. If you need used auto parts, they seem like a decent company, so far!
Weird, just trying to do some research on the issue for when I call for a return and I came across this.. http://parts.nissanusa.com/nissanparts/?selyear=2005&selmodel=Pathfinder&searchText=PROPELLER+SHAFT&action=replacement&makeid=25&siteid=14&catalogID=0 t has both the supe...
I had to order a replacement (used) drive shaft due to an injury trying to remove a u joint from my old one. I ordered one for an automatic 4wd without awd. The part received was number 37300 ea500, the old one is 37300ea510. The nused one is about an inch shorter. The REAL question is when I put in...
There is also a TSB for the intake valves I beleive. I had something similar when i first bought mine around 40K Miles. Something to the poing of a build up and cleaning of the valves.
well it was a one way move and once I empty out the uhaul and drop it off, I don't think i'll have to tow that much for a while. I may get a boat but it wouldn't be bigger than 15' or so. I'll definitely have a trans cooler by then. I have just over 61,000 right now.
I used the same CAT scale. driving wise, I tried keeping it around 60. On the steeper grades I would drop down to 50 or less if I could and taking O/D off. Memorial day weekend kept a good amount of traffic behind me and you know MASSholes lol. Once I noticed the thermostat rising to about dead acro...
I just used my pathfinder to tow a 6 X 12 Uhaul from Maine to NC. During most of the steeper grades in Western Mass, CT and parts of VA. The engine temp jumped pretty high. It almost got to the point where I was about to pull over due to the A/C cutoff coming into play (Pregnant wife). I am not sure...
There was a video on Youtube of a VQ40DE making the noise you can check that out. I haven't heard too much about this parts change though, so I wonder if it was actually a viable option.
I had a similar issue that randomly came up one day. I replaced the rear U joints and decided to do the forward ones as well and it turns out that one of the forward joints was bad but I couldn't tell with it attached. It sounded like it was one of the cv joints with the front jacked up but I couldn...
check your driveline (u joints) I was getting pretty low mileage and my forward shaft joints were DONE. Replacing them got me another 1-2mpg. Perhaps maybe your fan is stuck on.
