The 7500 interval is technically for conventional oil. I do 7500 miles intervals on both my 4.0L Pathfinders using synthetic oil and Nissan oil filters. It's not know as a "sludge motor." I am using Mobil 1 5w-30 and I've been changing oil and oil filter every 3500K miles. Am I chaning oi...

My understanding is that one should not let SES light blink (indicating random misfire) as the cat(s) may get flooded with gasoline, burn up and melt the core. It is my understanding that a catalytic converter's core may melt within 8 seconds if the engine is flooding it with gasoline. I think once ...

Thanks smj999smj for your comment. I was wondering if it would be better to gut both rear cats to equalize both sides so to speak, or it does not matter? If you gut it, it's decrease in backpressure will help performance, if it does anything to it at all (other than change the tone of your exhaust)....

Thanks for your comment. I am wondering if this change in back pressure somehow can be adjusted in the system. Or the system could learn it by itself? The secondary cats are not monitored, therefore you could chop then out or hollow them with no lights on the dash. But would probably change back pre...
