Tire recommendations needed

I need new tires for my '06 Pathfinder. 4WD. I drive a significant amount of off-road driving but it is mainly gravel/dirt roads, farm lanes, across fields, etc. for hunting. NO serious rock crawling or technical driving. I plan to keep this truck about 30 thousand more miles or so. Need something f...

Need new battery ASAP. Recommendations?

As noted, I have to replace the battery in my '06 immediately. Mine is a Nissan branded battery that is 4 years old if it was new when I bought the truck in '09 - or it's even older!

Need some recommendations. Thanks. :D

I had the same problem. I went through 2 or 3 fuel level sending units to no avail. Eventually had to replace the fuel tank. That did the trick. No problems since. Didn't notice if this was mentioned above but you should never over-fill the tank as this can damage the sensor. Once the pump clicks of...

They can. Shocks (especially cheap shocks) can get more binding issues as they get older. Damage to the gland/seal on the shaft, loss of lubrication internally due to failure, etc. Remember these are el cheapo orifice-damped units that come OEM. Swapping them for Bilsteins will be a night and day d...

Can struts stiffen up rather than soften as they get old?

Hey folks, It's been awhile since I've posted on the forum but I'm going to attribute that to having a high degree of satisfaction with and few problems with my 2006 Pathfinder! Now, however, I do have a question involving my truck. My '06 stock, very stock, PF has abotu 85,00 miles on it. I took it...

Good after-market compass that won't break the bank?

As was standard, I believe, my 2006 S model did not come with a compass. I've tried several after-market compasses in my truck with very limited success. The only one I've been able to get to work so far is one of the cheap suction-cup mounted ones but even that one will only work if it is stuck on ...

Knock or ticking sound from front (left, I think) end

I'll try to describe the ticking/knocking sound as best I can so bear with me. First things first: it isn't engine related. The noise is there even when I put the truck in neutral and turn off the engine. It is only audible when slowing down and then only from about 10 mph and slower. You hear it co...

debris build-up in factory mud flaps?

I have a very stock 2006 Pathfinder and I get a lot of debris collected and built up in the little well behind the factory mud flaps. (These are the little ones in front of the rear wheels.) I assume others have experienced this so my question is what can/should be done about it? It is sometimes qui...

A curious sound from under the hood...

Yesterday I had the dubious pleasure of driving through a moderately severe snowstorm through parts of central and eastern Nebraska. I was driving eastbound with the snow and wind blowing from the north. At one point the interstate was closed due to an accident and I had to detour north. This is whe...

Will aftermarket hood shield for Frontier fit a Pathfinder?

Looking at ordering a low profile hood shield/bug deflector from Cabela's. Their website says they have one that fits 05-10 Frontiers. Should that fit my '06 Pathfinder :?:

General Grabber AT2s on a Pathfinder?

Although I'm hopefully about a year from needing new tires, I'm starting to do some research into what I should replace my '06 Path's tires with. It currently has General Grabbers. I've been pleased with them on dry and wet pavement, a little less so in snow and mud. I don't do any really serious of...

Recall on late model Paths for fuel gauge and brake pedal?

Does anyone have any info on recalls for fuel gauge and brake pedal issues? I remember seeing something about it in the media a couple of months ago but my dealer is still saying he hasn't heard from Nissan about it. Thanks. :D
