i don't really know what would cause a clunk noise. I have them and have no problem with squeaking or clunking. Try some WD-40 on them and see if they stop squeaking. also maybe have someone rock the rig while you look underneath to try and diagnose the clunking.

So I just ordered 4 bolts from nissan for this. For the life of me I could not find bolts to fit anywhere. But they will be here Wensday morning so it's all good. I'll throw up a few pics once I get them installed.

So I finished my recovery points. Made is 1/2 inch industrial angle. Made the ends a but big for taking a bashing, only sticks down a very small amount more than the skid plate.
