Order an OEM tensioner and you'll be good. There are several online dealers...I've used courtesyparts.com before. Tensioner is around $50.

If you want to try the simple stuff first, get a good 4-wheel alignment. The "hop" that occurs when hitting bumps at speed is usually due to alignment on these.

Try changing the tensioner. That's where the noise was coming on mine and I just swapped it at the same time as I did the belts around 80k. Still quiet now approaching 140k.

We've never run the higher octane gas in this car, I guess the knock sensor found the right place timing wise and it's worked. That being said I should try some premium and see what happens. I guess it could be the knock sensor as well. I quick google seems to indicate that it's pretty buried thoug...

I've had some slight pinging on/off when lugging as you described. I drive in a very hilly area and notice it sometimes before it downshifts. It's happened since the vehicle was new but it got more noticeable in the last year or so, probably around 120k miles. I changed spark plugs at 100k miles and...

The power curve peaks considerably lower on the 5.6L as well. It has about the same torque at 2,500rpm as the 4.5L at 4,000rpm.

Probably because there are a lot more moms out there than people who need/want to off-road and tow with a 3-row SUV.... It would work fine for my wife.

one of the main reasons i bought my Pathfinders out of the whole field of SUVs at the time was the seating position This is exactly why I ended up with the PF. I bought a Tundra in '06 but the seats were just not comfortable on longer trips. Decided I wanted an SUV so shopped the 4Runner in '09 and...

Anybody with a 2008+ that can post a photo of their engine bay specifically the rad area, from above and below? it would be much appreciated! You'd probably never notice the difference, even looking at it in person. As mentioned, it's a very slight difference and mainly in the angle. I tried to ins...

If you search around, you'll find the part numbers for the updated radiators. If it has an old part #, you should either bypass or replace. Personally, I vote for replacing particularly if you're a DIY type because it's not very expensive to get a new radiator in there and have no worries going forw...

Well my sampling shows 10,000 miles to be very conservative on Mobil 1 with about 500 miles of towing mixed in. But.... If you're within the power-train warranty, I would recommend you change the oil. The maintenance schedule calls for service at 3,750 miles for severe service which includes towing....

I suppose if the aero is nasty on your trailer, you could be struggling a lot more than I do. I usually tow a rather sleek box trailer. But again, I'd only lock it into a gear if it's hunting. 3rd seems to pull the best.

3,600# shouldn't require anything special. Unless it's hunting or constantly shifting, just leave it in drive and let the auto make the decision. I've only had to override mine a few times and usually on longer/gradual climbs where it thinks it can upshift earlier than it needs too. Mostly on steep ...

Right. Just a black steel rim too. If you wanted to do a 5-way rotation you'd probably want to add a matching rim with tpms. Not worth it at all in my book.

It's not ideal on a concrete surface that's for sure. If you could make it a 3-4 point turn it would be better. Once isn't likely to cause a ton of damage though (famous last words).
