First thing to clear up: CPO doesn't mean beans when it comes to accessories/extra/features. It just means it was inspected for safety/maintenance and has an extended warranty. Dealer pays Nissan for this in order to sell the vehicle for a higher price (so you pay for it too, just like if you bought...

It's very apparent at WOT on steep hills. I have to turn onto a steep up-hill climb and usually have to peg it to get out into traffic. There's quite a lag between those gears and it makes some scary sounds if I do it in manual mode. Performance is still decent but it would be quite a bit better if ...

I'm at about 18k miles on my '08 and the shifts are very soft between 1-2 and 2-3. So maybe they've reprogrammed to take some of the abuse off the tranny? I've not driven a pre-'08 so I can't comment but it almost feels like a manual tranny shifting (VW's DSG for example) on the lower gears. I've no...

Either way, we're still just comparing vehicles with average acceleration IMHO so no need to dig too far into details. If we're trimming .5 seconds off a 5 second car...that's another story. What's the difference performance wise on '08+ models? I've not found any published performance on '08+ but s...

Car and Driver is usually an accurate gauge. They list road-tests of:

2005 Pathfinder: 0-60 7.5 seconds

2006 Xterra 6-speed manual: 0-60 7.0 seconds

I would bet the automatics are a lot closer in real world as C&D tends to torch them.

One possibility between the two vehicles is emissions. The 3/4 ton isn't subject to the same emissions requirements and perhaps isn't hit as hard by the winter fuel blend. I'm hoping mine jumps up in the summer. I've been averaging 17-19mpg on my commute this winter. 17-18 when I let it warm up a lo...

My HVAC fan is a bit noisy as well, most noted at the lower settings. Kind of annoying.

No idea on the tires, never heard of such a thing.

I have a Excaliber remote start on mine. It was installed by the dealer but I've looked at manual/instructions online and it doesn't look hard. caralarm.com

A rear-facing seat takes up a ton of space and it's an issue in most vehicles besides minivans. My wife had a Tahoe before her Odyssey and the rear-facing seat required moving the passenger from seat forward further than desired. That's why the center position works best since it can stick forward b...

what tires are on it? Stock Generals. Roads are pretty bumpy here right now with frost heaves and at times it jumps across the lane a bit. Seems to do it more when there's a series of bumps which makes me think it's shock related. Tires were 32psi cold this morning so that shoudn't be causing it. R...

My 10 SE has developed a nasty squeak coming from the very back near or on the back door. it may be the glass or the door itself. I've got that one too. Let me know if you figure out where it's coming from. It squeaks like crazy on rough roads but fairly silent on good roads. This thing has a few r...

i added the heavy duty shocks from blisten and they are quiet nice Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Bilsteins as well but haven't researched them much for the PF. How do they stack up to the stock units? I also get a fairly significant "hop" when hitting big bumps and was wondering if replaceme...

I haven't done any all-out runs with mine but it does like to short-shift 1st and 2nd gear. Passing speed is my main goal and it does a pretty good job there. Suspension isn't quite up to the speeds it can get to, but that's another issue.

Regardless of seat choice, it sounds like you're on the right track with the belt. If the seat doesn't have built-in lock downs you've got to get the seatbelt into ratchet mode or it will never fit securely.

What kind of seat are you using? I don't go cheap when it comes to carseats and Britax seems to be the standard. You should be able to get it in there using the seatbelt and have it be very secure. The Britax seats have ratcheting lockdowns for the seatbelt and I've not met a vehicle I couldn't get ...
