Good info. I've had a couple different off-brand synthetics (as well as the name brands) tested over the years and they seem to have very similar performance at reasonable intervals. I think for general automotive use, synthetic is already over-kill so there's no reason an off-brand isn't just as go...

I still say someone used your rig as a desert racer. Or you just have terrible luck with vehicles. Ha! The truck was a dealership loaner in its former life, so probably about right. Though I complain about it a lot, it has't been terrible. You know how some people can drive around with a ch...

Terry is right, there's ethanol free gas everywhere, if you bother to look for it. Maybe more common in Canada, but certainly not "everywhere" south of your border. I've looked at the pure-gas.org site before and while there are a lot of listings, most are not actual gas stations or anywh...

Thank you guys Taking switch apart was easy the first time and going to try cleaning if not ill replace it what brands have you used as replacements? Not sure what year you have but I have the auto up on my '08 and Switchdoctor's aftermarket unit didn't work right. They told me they have had troubl...

I'm not sure I'm following. This isn't some sort of warranty work is it? So you tell the dealership you didn't ask for his F@!#ing opinion so just fix it already. You could also try the Infiniti dealer as they'll be less accustomed to tight-budget customers. I've been in some pretty shady tire shops...

Well you'd still have to do some mods to go faster. V8 and V6 are about dead even in a sprint. Re-gearing will help the V8 a lot if you want speed.

Passing Performance Vid

I swear my Pathfinder just gets more powerful as the miles pile on. 140k miles now and performing better than ever. I pass several of these trucks every morning on my 30 mile commute. This thing accelerates from ~45mph to "fast" quite impressively. Which is good because most of my passing ...

not a fan of this fly by wire..rather have a throttle cable.. powers there and can't even spin the tires.. You might try disconnecting your battery for awhile to reset the ECM. I changed my battery the other day and it's extremely touchy at the moment. Traction control and VSC will keep you from sp...

Proper alignment should fix that.

VQ seems to be a great line of engines. I'm around 140k miles and the oil samples at 10k mile intervals are so clean it's almost comical. Still pulls like a freight train and sees (and has seen) red-line several times a day for the last 6 years. I'm not the least bit concerned with the engine, and t...

Ok I got one ... How bout reving to like 2,000-2,200 RPM on a cold start! Why? It's the only car/truck I have ever had that does that. While 2,500 is a little higher than avg, it's certainly not uncommon for cold engines to rev at least around 2,000. Outside of some Euro cars most all rev when cold...

Yes as mentioned if you want them all to match and you're putting 20 on rears, you'd have to do 5 on the fronts. That's really dark though but it all comes down to what you want.
