Possible that the rear door activates the light through breaking the connection between the latch and strike when opened.

I had a 4Runner that was wired like that...

I'm soooo close I can taste it... ;)

Received and swapped out the signal stalk with the fog light switch and put a fog lamp relay in the main relay block under the hood.

Signal stalk switch causes the relay to click as expected. :D

Still no power at the two plug ends I assumed were the fog lamp ...

I had a similar outcome with my 1997 XE after swapping the factory stereo out. I still have knob lights, but the recirc and AC switches no longer light up. They still function, just no light.

Can't seem to figure this out either....

I just got done swapping my stock head unit out for a Pioneer unit in my 1997 XE and had this same issue. Turns out that, despite NOT having the BOSE system, there is still a factory amp that drives the stock speakers.

The wiring harness I bought to adapt the stock harness connectors to the Pioneer ...
