Re: No heat at idle (long post)

One question I do have for you guys (yes a picture will be better, but I'm inside and it's cold out there) is what that pump looking thing is in the hot water line that goes to the heater? If you're looking under the hood, on the driver side there's a hose that comes out from the head and goes aft ...

Not sure, looks as if there are events at 0, 20 and 80ºC. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/2008_Pathfinder/tm.pdf Maybe smj999smj can chime in on that. For my Maxima it specifically states 175ºF, so near 80ºC. so its got a temperature sensor in the valve body and an external one (sensor #2) t...

Unless the Pathy is loaded, or its very very hot out, I run 87 If it loaded, im towing, or its very very hot out.... i'll top off with 93 and keep using that until it either cools down or the trip is over! Running higher octane gas, in most cases, will reduce your gas mileage as it is harder to burn...

well.. there are several ways to check.. one is to jack up one of the rear wheels and then rotate the tire back and forth as far as you can (emergency brake off) while you eyeball the u joints. its usually pretty obvious that the yoke on the punkin will move before the driveshaft does and sometimes ...

I'm curious if the Bully Dog tuner, or any other tuner for that matter, can override the fact the R51 will not shift into overdrive until the thermostat reaches operating temperature. Now that the weather had changed for the colder the first few three miles or so of my morning commute is spent in 4...

after these descriptions... I'm starting to agree that this is mechanical in the drivetrain and not related to fuel management / sensor issues. Have your checked the universal joints on the drive shaft?? what i'm getting is that when there is a slight negative load on the drivetrain followed by a ze...

One more thing..... I see the spacers advertised with longer bolts... BUT how are people dealing with the left side mounting bracket?? I would not suggest leaving this off.. there a considerable amount of weight attached to the snorkel by the throttle body and without a support structure in that are...

We used to install similar spaces on RX-7's. They were phenolic resin and designed to isolate the heat from the lower intake manifold from getting into the upper intake manifold thus allowing for a cooler air charge. The intake manifolds in those cars were cast aluminum and the mod DID greatly reduc...

That, my friend, is the power steering pump.. have you checked your fluid level? However.. I would think that the squealing is more likely to be coming from the tensioner pulley which is just to the right of it, just out of sight under the intake snorkel in the picture. if it is.. its not an expensi...

Ermugherd... that could be a myriad of things... however, my gut feeling is sensor or vac issue My experience with the pathfinder is limited... however, I've been tuning injection for a while... Problems that show up at changes in throttle are usually sensor or vac related.. you may no notice a vac ...

I checked CourtesyNissanParts and I think the part you are referring to is 13025 on the Camshaft and Valve Mechanism diagram. Its listed for $375. Your pic doesn't seem to show any major damage. I'd leave it. Or maybe a wrecker? t OK.. so the "divots" pictures on the teeth of the exhaust ...
