Just put on Goodyear Fortera Tripletreds, P265-70-R16 and I'm absolutely impressed with the handling improvements. Steering response is much quicker and more accurate, body roll is diminished quite a bit. Traction seems great, and they're definitely quieter than the stock BFG Long Trails. Absolutely...

Squeaky driver's seat

This is probably a new one...anyone have trouble with a squeaky driver's seat on an R51? The sound seems to come from inside the seat back, when you accelerate or push your lower back backwards in the seat...I believe that it's the lumbar support. It can be prettly loud sometimes and gets really ann...

I'd stay away from that K&N stuff. I recently converted back to stock cellulose after using a K&N drop-in for about 10k miles. I don't remember where I saw it, but someone did some filtration efficiency tests where the K&N let a lot of dirt by. There's also the opportunity to screw your ...

I just had a similar issue, 34k on my '05. TPMS went on when the temp dropped, I topped off the tires and it took about 100 miles to go off. I was taking the truck in to the dealer for another reason anyway (main window switch on driver's door would put the rear windows down but not up, but that's a...

I tow a jetski trailer and, now that you mention it, my side running lights also have never worked, but I have full brake/turn signals. I guess I was ecstatic that my used trailer just had the basics working, so I didn't even investigate the running lights. When I get some time I'll try to put a vol...

You can take your battery to most auto parts stores and they'll be able to test it under load, that's really the only way to tell if your battery is ok. Rather than battery terminal cleaner, take the terminals off and use sandpaper to make sure all of the contact surfaces are bright. If your battery...

Too bad Nissans aren't "cool" enough yet to have the tricky little light up hitch covers like Ford & Chevy. (At least I haven't seen any.)

Or maybe our Pathys are already too good for that silly waste of $.

Your findings on the rear diff are quite consistent with mine. Seems like Nissan needs to require a fluid change after a short break-in period, instead of going 15k before the first inspection. That, and they need to change their inspection to actual fluid replacement. It will be interesting to see ...

I also wish it had the automatic lock feature when you put it in drive. You'd think they'd have a simple way to program these options (for those of us without the navigation package).

.... you can't get a good enough angle to use more than about half a quart of each bottle. I had to keep refilling one bottle. You've probably already seen these but just incase you haven't, they have these little pump joints you screw on the top of oil bottles to pump oil up into diff's and tranni...

Is it just me, or does lowering the Pathfinder just make it look like a station wagon? Maybe the picture is just stretched or at a funny angle.

I'm not real impressed, but that's just my personal taste.

It was just a little more than 1.5 quarts (3 pints), as the service manual said. Fortunately I had 3 quarts of gear oil on hand, because you can't get a good enough angle to use more than about half a quart of each bottle. I had to keep refilling one bottle. I ended up needing just a little of the 3...
