If I was a Nissan executive: Get rid of Xterra and make the Pathfinder do what the Xterra can do, i.e. stay body-on-frame, dump the IRS and go solid axle, plus bring on the diesel, make the rear seats/3rd row seats a little more comfortable (i.e. LR3). No way on going solid rear axle, the IRS is mu...

I used the Kia AifLift kit as well. I went with separate air lines, as I guessed that this would help more with roll stability than a single line which would allow air to flow between bags. Just behind each of the rear wheels, the plastic body curves under and there is a (more or less) horizontal ed...

I received a letter from Nissan over the weekend basically saying that I was now covered for this. I'm assuming they changed the recall to include all states, but I'm just guessing at this point. Came with a sticker to put on the warranty booklet. I got the letter as well, and I'm in south Florida ...

My '05 will usually take another 0.2-0.3 gallons after the nozzle clicks off, and I think I've only overflowed it once (getting every last drop before a hurricane). Probably depends a lot of the pumps and the vapor recovery system - down in FL they might be different than you have.

The solution of replacing the caliper seems logical and I wouldn't disagree with it, but what is the mechanical root cause of the failure? Do the calipers warp or get distorted? Do the bushings for the slide pins get worn? From AMR's description it sounds like it happened relatively quickly...what w...

This should answer your question. I've never done it personally, but others on the forum have and may offer some tips.

i took it in twice before and they couldn't find a problem so of course im 900 miles out of the basic warranty and they wanted 300 bucks for it. $300? Are we talking about the same part? I thought that the secondary timing chain and tensioner replacement would be upwards of $1500. Or was this becau...

Did you do it yourself or take it to a dealer/mechanic? If DIY, how was it, how much were parts, and do you have any tips? If dealer/mechanic, how much did it run you?

I'm pretty sure the issue was resolved beginning with the '08 model year. You should be ok.

Try bringing up to 35 PSI and drive for a little while. I believe that TPMS is programmed to alarm below 29 and reset above 33. You might need to get it over the threshold to reset the system, then you can lower to your preferred pressure. If that doesn't work, the dealer probably needs to reset you...

Which I imagine would easily run over $1,000. Not on my budget.

... To be safe, I'm set on a 6,000 mile OCI with Mobil 1 synthetic. I hope that works for you. I have used Mobil 1 and changed it every 5,000 miles since I bought mine with 16,000 miles on the odometer. At almost 85K, mine probably needs the timing chain tsb bulletin done to it. Fortunately I have ...

I'm changing oil every 3000km roughly and they suggest every 6000km. So, seeing that I'm going only to half the life expectancy of the oil, then the oil should still be doing it's job rather than it breaking down further. That's the way I see it. True, it's something to consider, but 1) You're stil...
