I got the Akebono Pro Act and did the swap over the weekend. They came with all of the necessary hardware and little grease packets and went on with little issue. I had some sticking in the passenger side rear but a little lube of the piston and pins seems to have fixed that. The stock Hitachi pads ...

Thanks I will check out the Akebono. I probably don't even need rotors at this point, they look great, no grooves or pitting

Power Stop OEK Ceramic Brake Kits - KOE144

The 09 is due for a brake job shortly and the Power Stop OEK Ceramic Brake Kits - KOE144 seems like a good value from RockAuto at $171 for front and rear ceramic pads and rotors. I don't have any experience with this brand though so I am a bit unsure. Has anyone used this kit or have a better sugges...

I noticed that the replacement battery seems to be a better battery than the factory installed. It has a 2 year full replacement and 5 or 6 years prorated. Not a really bad deal for $70 I just wasn't planning to replace a battery so soon.

Dang I'm really surprised about this, but I guess they save $ by using cheap batteries. Went with the dealer battery since it was the best price to convenience ratio. $70 prorated

This summer we had 85 days with temps at 100+ and they indicated that have been selling a lot of batteries lately.

Battery Life

Dead battery 2.5 yrs old 30K miles, no fancy electronics or lighting installed. Is this normal for Nissan? I know batteries in the South don't last as long due to heat but I'm used to getting about 4 years out of a battery.

Ours has a moldy or funky smell at times too which in my research is common to Nissan vehicles. Drive around for a little while with the fan on but ac off to clear the smell. In the future whenever you are several minutes from your destination cut off the ac but leave the fan blowing.

Assuming the coolant in the system is a 50/50 mix just grab a jug of distilled water and top off. No concerns with blending different coolant types this way.

Never heard anything bad about Raybestos and I wouldn't have any issues using them. The last rotors I bought were the Oreilly house brand for my car, brake best brand. I sold the car a few months ago but the rotors held up great for 2 years. FYI there are some great advance auto coupon codes and dea...

We have Husky liner in the rear, cost was about $50 less than weathertech and it still looks new after a year. Easy to clean too. Our third seat goes up maybe 4 times a year. Have not replaced floormats yet but I like the weathertech for the front and the Husky for 2nd row i think.

I've always thought drilled and slotted rotors were a novelty item except on perhaps street cars or autox then they must be mated with proper pads to be effective. I also suspect the lifespan to be much shorter since they can't be turned as far as I know. The store brand or wagner brand are generall...

Thanks for those articles I've heard the same thing before too but I wasn;t sure fi there were different recommendations for FWD and RWD vehicles. I took the tire to a local shop and they took care of it for me with a vulcanizing patch from the inside of the tire. I found a great local shop in the p...

Others report lower mileage but I believe they are heavy on the gas. Or we live at higher altitudes, drive up and down mountains, have speed limits 75+, etc. The mpg is about my only grumbling point, but it's pointless because all the other SUVs out there are similar (I'm not talking about the cars...

After close examination and reinflation tire didn't look that bad. The hole was about pencil size and its in a spot safe to patch. I will take it to shop rather than messing with a diy kit.

We have an 09 Pathfinder and most of the issues with this model seem to have been resolved by 09. Our actual mileage is 19mpg mixed daily driving and up to 24mpg highway. Others report lower mileage but I believe they are heavy on the gas. Only mod is a K&N washable filter and mileage increased ...
