I currently have some outside edge worn Michelin AT2's 265/65/17's and plan on going to the Lesotho highlands in a week or so. We are HOPING to see snow, I know for many of you this is common. In 30 years I've only seen it once and it was 0.5" think.

I should be getting it back on Wednesday, I asked them to take down the codes, Nissan has decided to do the fitment themselves...

Gearbox guys says Nissan "forgot" to check the codes and told him to just replace, he says that the unit was receiving signals but not responding to them. He suspects a surge of sorts.

Should receive the car by the end of the week, in SA the dealers are normally not very technical and outsource ...

Hi Tech

I was misinformed by Nissan, I spoke to the gearbox guys this morning as it's not fixed yet. The say they changing the transfer case unit NOT gearbox - still the costs are as I said above...

They reckon they have NO idea what caused the failure.

So if the solenoid is INSIDE my gearbox how did it break

, they say the found no water.

Update, I didn't get to take look myself but Nissan is fixing it.

They sent it in to a gearbox specialist as they struggled to even "see" it wasn't working...anyways, $3700 to replace the solenoid. $2800 for new gearbox, I told them fit a new box.

BTW, they say they had to open my gearbox to ...

Hey Scotty good to see another Safrican...V9x what an engine. Perhaps give the nudge a skip? Maybe nissan can order you the excellent bullbar from Australia, it has proper air cooling for the intercooler. The ARB and TJM's don't look too good for airflow :(.
