New or old?

We decided to replace our '08 PF 4x4 in January. My wife and I looked at the new pathfinder but she was not impressed. We ended up with a 2011 SE 4x4 w/ leather and Bose that we found new at a local dealership that had been on their lot for over a year. Sticker $38K and we walked out at $31K includi...

Info update

Some info on the Nissan and Edmunds websites- -Base price expected to be under $30K -Average weight improvement of 500 pounds -20/26 MPG for the 2WD (no EPA ratings yet), I figure 19/25 for the 4WD but that's just my speculation -No V8 option for 2013. 260-HP 3.5/CVT is only option -Lightest 2WD Pat...

Tire rotation

I usually do my oil myself, and do the tire rotation at the same time. So for me it's about every 5000 miles.

Uneven rear tire wear + Airlift 1000

Going on a trip to Utah so decided to rotate tires and check brake pads. Noticed both rear tires (Yokohama Geolander AT/S, 265/70/17) were really badly worn on the inside of the tread, had to have them both replaced. Tire warranty was 50K miles and only had 32K on the tires, shop would not honor the...

Thoughts

I'm sure you'll see issues that are common to the Path on this forum, but no more so than any other car or truck. We've had our 08 PF for just over a year now and no major issues (have an extended warranty through CarMax just in case). I'm surprised you bought a car of that age and mileage through a...

Battery has died twice

No crank twice in the last month, thankfully I have a portable jumper for emergencies. The thing is, the car was bought used just over a year ago (it's an '08) and just after we brought it home we couldn't get it started, so CarMax put in a new battery. So...the battery should be just over a year ol...

Thanks

Good info. Not sure if the wife will give up the steps as she's the primary driver and relatively short, but I can definitely look into it. Might keep it anyway in case we get high centered somewhere and can use the wheel attachments.

Hi-Lift jack-HELP!

I just bought a hi-lift jack b/c I'm a noob to off-roading and going on a 9-day trip to Southern Utah at the end of the month. Nothing major but want to be prepared. So...watched the tutorial video and went outside to look at the PF. It's a 4X4 with running boards. Got underneath and for the life of...

Yes, it looks like the picture in the link. Looks like it goes under the silver side trim, not sure how much work it would take to remove the side trim pieces and then the CF (if it's glued or snaps in place). Called the dealer to see if they carried the wood trim piece, was told by parts that they ...

Thanks!

I will give the graphics company a look. I'm starting to wonder if the CF trim is even stock, or if a previous owner (bought the PF used a year ago) added it themselves. It might be easy to pry it off and clean it up. I think I'll take it to the dealer to see if they have any opinions. Thanks all fo...

Trim

volvite wrote:Do you have pictures of your set up? I have the wood trim, and I'm not a fan of it.
I'll take a picture tonight and post. It's my wife's daily driver so I'll have to wait until later. If the CF is easy to remove, maybe I'll trade 'ya! :D

Wood dash kit

We have an '08 SE 4x4 with faux carbon fiber trim, which looks out of place in a white Pathfinder with beige interior. Our center console looks like this, but not wood: http://media.ed.edmunds-media.com/pictures/VEHICLE/2008/Nissan/2008.nissan.pathfinder.20120327-E.jpg Wife would like to replace jus...

4.07 is seriously quick. Just out of curiosity I looked up some numbers for the 2011 Cayenne (400 pounds lighter than previous model) just to compare. Cayenne - 4400 lbs - 300hp/295tq - 0-60 7.1/7.4 seconds Cayenne s - 4553 lbs - 400hp/369tq - 0-60 5.6 seconds Cayenne Turbo - 4784 lbs - 500hp/516tq ...

Great idea on the trailer hitch. Will do that as soon as wife gets home with the car.

Thanks

I'll look into the belt/tensioner issue. The vehicle has 40K miles (used), might be glad I got the extended warranty.
