Well I bought my 08 pathfinder with 74000 on it 4 years ago.

Life got in the way and I never got around to changing the transmission fluid.

I did the radiator bypass at 90000 and the fluid looked real clean that dripped out during the bypass.

So I am at 135000 now and went to do a total flush ...

Well when o got it home I wiggled the negative lead on the battery and it cranked right up at the key.

Cleaned it aNd tightened it even though I did all of that 3 months ago when I installed a new battery.

The negative lead was a little loose but clean. The negative lead is stretched I think.

But ...

My 2008 with 130 thousand turned it off at the gas station and than won't start.

Researched on here and found the thread referring to jumping the gray and white wire to bypass the neutral safety switch.

Didn't make a difference, still no crank.

Jumped starter and it cranks . Have not gotten it to ...

My 2008 v6 with 130 thousand easy miles has got a little rattling going on in the right hand side of the engine compartment .

Looks to me to be the pollution pump, it sits right above the alternator .

The noise tends to come and go,but has me concerned as I am out of town.

Is this a common ...

Is there a filter in the transmmission to replace?

I just changed my rear differential fluid. I had my pathfinder backed up on ramps so a little angle.

I got over a quart out of the rear end. And than when I filled it it took 1 and 1/2 quarts to fill it to the fill.

You guys say it should only take 3 pints?

2 pints = 1 quart
3 pints = 1-1/2 ...

I've never flushed my transmission, only drain and fill, sometimes more than once.

270k kms and counting. I'd vote for drain and fill!

And you pull a large trailer too I see . You have the bypass with a separate aftermarket cooler?, or are you just running with the bypass with the factory cooler ...

I read on here that one gentleman talks about just draining the 4 quarts of fluid in the pan and refilling , over flushing the system.

Is there any special reason you can get away with just a change like this on a pathfinder.

Also going to do a complete fluid change.

How long will the timing chain go after you start hearing the whine and what will happen if you don't fix it!

Also at 120 thousand is there a good chance it won't make the noise or that the previous owner of 70 thousand miles had it repaired and now it is good for 300 thousand?

I have a 08 with the v6 with 120000 miles on it. I have owned d since it had 70 thousand.

Always the best oil and napa gold oil filters changed regularly. Never abused or over heated.

I can't imagine it is a rod knock.

Almost light enough to be a lifter noise but no lifters in a doc engine ...

Bought it with 74000 and it has 96000 now and has been trouble free other than having to do the Trans line reroute .

So how many trouble free miles are you guys getting out of your Pathfinders and if troubles what kind of ones Major mostly but minor is always helpful too.

After a little more research on here i came across the info that says the 08 is different and needs line added to make it work.

!st off I want to say what a great site and how great it is that you guys are tipping off people about the radiator problems and finding easy affordable solution to cure it.

So this is my problem when i climb under my 08 pathfinder v6 le 4wd my rubber line does not come off the hard tranny tubes ...
