You make me wonder how much weight the third row seating would shed? I would think MPG might bump up a few tenths.
I remember [long time ago] that bumpers were removed to make the car a little faster in the take-off.

Re: update

I checked and I dont have the problematic Radiator so all is well If it is a 2006, you have the notorious radiator. Remember that you can never catch it in time. The damage is done once it leaks to the trans. Sad to say, some thought they might be "lucky", that it would not happen to them...

Your Dad is recalling the days of pure gas, NO ethanol blends at the time. Some brands advertised “No fuel line freeze up”, should moisture get into the tank. Today it is hard to find E0, most are blended with ethanol, called E10. Since ethanol will mix with water or gas, fuel line freeze up is now ...

I prefer MotorKote. Available at truck stops, auto stores, wall-mart. I also put it in all my small engines, chain saw engine [add a little to the 2 cycle mix] & bar. As a side note, I now have 103K on my 2006. These engine are notorious for the timing chain guide noise, but it keeps on a going ...

WOW!!! Those look like deep treads. It reminds me of when I was 18. Dad had just put snow tires on a 1961 Chev Corvair Greenbriar [passenger van]. I went around a curve a “little” too fast and did a 180. The rear just walked itself around. Scared the snot out of me. Never did that again.

Glad to have you on the forum, but the sad news is that the vast majority on this site are from North America and Nissan [and / or gov’t] refuses to sell diesel or manual transmissions for our PF's here.

I have a 21MB Gulfstream that has not moved during 2014 due to pancreatic cancer diagnosis (about the worst kind & spreads fast). After 5 sessions of the “best” chemo in May-June, could not handle it any more so switched to some alternatives often seen used in Europe & Mexico and amongst a f...

[quote="bmramon"]Safe to use this additive with synthetic oil?

No problem. I do. I feel it is one of the best friction fighters around.

I am not a car tech. I'm sure someone soon will give some info.

I believe in the use of the oil additive called “MotorKote”, available at WalMart, AutoZone, truck stops, etc. It would sure help to keep wear at a minimum in a situation like yours. It does not thicken the oil, just protect the metal. The service manual states a warmed up engine should register 14 ...

Could we ask, what vehicle did you replace it with? Just wondering what my options are for the future.

I see that 2015 Grand Cherokee is reasonable (?) & has 8 – speed trans. Has a 3.0L diesel option for a lot more $$$. A 4 Runner seems expensive.

The Saturday paper (11/8/2014) states that the 2015 PF will have an "updated CVT". Not sure just what that involves, time will tell, but sounds like the older CVT was a boo-boo.

Thanks for the Bully Dog report. Check that off my list. I am a current owner of ScanGauge 2. Love it. To be frank, seems the PF is about maxed out when it comes to improving MPG. Some items that may help are to stick with tire size spec’d. I notice that the torq converter tends to unlock when engin...

window grease

Smj999smj,
Some time ago you recommended a grease to put in the groves to reduce energy required to raise & lower the window. I can’t find the post, so can you repeat the brand?
Thanks

It can get squirrely if less than 10% or so of the trailer weight is on the hitch. Was the car moved as far forward as possible? Since it would have a low profile compared to a camper, I don’t know why you should have had a problem.
