Re: Should the heater pipe be a preventative maintenance part?

My 2005 SE had a coolant leak. It was leaking at the heater hose that was to the inlet on that heater hose assembly. I ordered a new hose from Rockauto and started the process of replacing the hose. The hose I got was a lot longer than the original hose, rather than go through the process of returni...

P0420 Code solutions

Guys, I have a 2005 Pathfinder SE 4X4.. its relatively low mileage.. about 114k. I bought it in 2008 and its been a great car. Anymore, I don't drive it that much.. just to tow my boat to the lake or run to Home Depot. Sitting is the absolute worst thing to do to a car and things are creeping up now...

post tranny rebuild

So... after 10 years.. the radiator got me. I debated replacing the car with a newer Armada.. but since the car isn't a daily driver and is basically only used for pulling my boat.. I'm getting the tranny rebuilt. $3200 is a lot less than $25k.. so when I get it back will update. I am not going to r...

2005 SE 4X4 108k

I bought my 05 in 08.. it had 36k miles on it then and has 108k now and I think I'm the 2nd owner. It has been a real trooper as far as I am concerned. The 4.0 runs like a scalded dog.. and does a pretty good job of pulling my 18' center console flats boat. My only issue with it is stopping the boat...

update..

I discovered that my radiator was leaking ATF into the coolant. I don't know when it started, but I think its been fairly recent. So.. I did the mod.. it was pretty easy. It took more time to take off the skid plate than it did to do the mod. Today, I had the coolant system flushed and refilled and ...

Code 1754... what now?

I was stopped at a traffic light.. my 05 Path SE 4X4 was running normally.. outside ambient was in the mid 90s.. I'm in Texas.. the light changed to green, I pressed on the gas and it kind of stumbled.. the "check engine soon" light came on.. it was really slow accelerating, As all of the ...

failing u-joints seem to be a common source of vibration Seems to be.. I'm having the same thing with my 05 SE, 56k miles. I was pretty sure it was a U joint and am 99% convinced I found it today. In my case, its the front joint at the front differential. It moves a lot in all directions with my ha...

Hello.. My current Path is a 2005 SE that I purchased 2 years ago. I replaced a 1990 SE that I purchased in 1995 and before that I have owned Nissan/Datsuns since the 70s. I loved that 2.4ltr straight 6.. it was a great engine. I had both carbeuratored and fuel injected versions and loved both. My 9...
