Re: Bedlining the roof gutters mod.

Just wanted to provide an update from my first round of bedlining my gutters in 2015 (posts are still posted a few pages back in this thread). I got about 6 years out of the first attempt (they really needed to be done about a year ago). The bedlining started to crack and flake off, along with some ...

The nuts/bolts on my hatch handle rusted as well. But it wasn’t the hatch seal leaking it was the handle leaking. The bolts were rusted so bad that one broke and had to be cut to get the handle off. Put a new handle on with a bead of silicone and it’s been dry ever since. Apparently whatever ga...

Re: e-brake adjustment

Wow, my first post and I might be helpful. The adjustment is actually quite simple. Raise the back end and take off both rear wheels. Release the emergency brake. There is a little rubber plug in the rear brake disk. Carefully remove this plug without pushing it in. (I learned that the hard way and...

Searched this and don’t really see anything on it. This is the most relevant post I’ve found. Anyone have thoughts on the parking brake adjustment? My brake now goes all the way to floor and doesn’t hold. Do I just adjust the nut on the pedal under the dash? Surely it’s not THAT simple. But...

Pulled the trigger and had the timing chain work done today. $1650 out the door including water pump and new serpentine belt. The guides were worn down to almost nothing and it's only been whining a few weeks. Glad I didn't wait. Tough pill to swallow especially considering this is Nissan's fault. A...

What's interesting is she initially quoted me $1300, for just the guide replacement and I asked - "why not the chains? Aren't they the root cause of the issue?" She got a blank look on her face and said - "well, they will inspect them to see how they look". I said no, if you repl...

Got a quote today from local Nissan dealer:
New guides, chains, and water pump - $1650.

Compared to other prices I've seen on here that seems pretty good.

I asked them about replacing radiator while they were there, $780.
No thanks, I'll do that myself.

What are your thoughts on an independent shop doing this repair? Should this be done by Nissan for warranty purposes or would an independent shop be just as good? They would definitely be cheaper. Other than water pump I was going to have all belts and hoses replaced. Anything else I should have don...

Jrobers - thanks.

Anyone - is it bad to continue driving with the whining? How long before this must be fixed?

Thanks.

So I've got it in the shop now. It sat for 3 weeks waiting on them to get time to do it. For the price I'm paying, I'd wait 6 months!! But wouldn't you know it has warmed up and now the only noise you can hear is the fan since my fan clutch is dead as well. I played them the video I made and the te...

Did my first coolant drain/fill since I bought it w/33k mi on it. I was really dreading it but it was very easy. I didn't ramp up the rpms as noted above I just started, let idle, ran front/rear heat at max until engine was at operating temp (man you could roast a chicken in that cab), then topped o...

Couple questions: 1. Is there a trick to getting the tape line perfectly straight on such a long run (front to back)? 2. Do you sand the seam sealer material or just the metal on the sides of the channels? 3. How many coats of the bedliner spray do you recommend? 4. Is it difficult to pull the tape...
