Thermostat mounted, with up up? And out out? That little rivet is a vent. The stat should just make the motor run too cold and no cabin heat in the winter. If it is missing, it would not make the motor get too hot. The other person left it out because they couldn't fix it either. Water pump/belt. If...

Check engine mounts. Have someone accelerate in park while another watches the engine swing and check for things that might hit. They might not sound if not moving, if it is drive train. That is the big thing that acceleration will do - move the motor. The exhaust pipes and anything else hooked to t...

the halogen insert bulbs are pretty standard. It has been awhile, but look at side of bulb for a locating tab that has to line up and maybe rotate (L shaped?) to have the element in position, then you add the locking ring. The outer glass is another story, specific to models and lots of $$$

tire carrier

I posted this before. In town, on street parking is a pain getting groceries, etc out. I ended up strapping my spare inside to the floor hooks and removing the swing mount. Since I teach skiing and play in snow a lot I am not that interested in having the spare down below in the deep snow, also.

On my 98, the two bolt holes are actually tapped through to use jacking screws without a puller. M6-1.0 an inch and half or two to reach out of the hollow.

On my 98, I thought that the two holes were for a puller. I was threading in a bolt to make sure that the threads were ready and noticed the balancer coming off, so put one in the other hole and finished it. I am pretty sure that they are M6-1.0 x 2 inches or so to stick out enough. Mine are jack sc...

No one can tell from here. Anything can be fixed. At dealer rates even. If the pan is shot, he might have thrown a connecting rod through it. You need a quote from your local mechanic that knows his rates and can look at it before going too deep. Also, how cheap you can get a motor locally. the 95- ...

Water pump seal

That's my guess. It is behind the fan pulley and timing chain cover and it looks like it is coming out of the bottom of the covers.

For in town I hated mine. If people park too close, you can't open the rear. If you can swing it open enough, you are standing there with groceries in your hands with the carrier in the way. I strapped it to the floor and tossed the weight. Left it home if staying around town and needed the space.

Part A - I meant a urgent new, not reply to. In case someone is stuck in the middle of a job or broken down.

Part B - without signing on and looking for new posts. I don't check this anywhere near as often as email.

Thanks,

Sway

Did my lowers yesterday with the 4x4parts.com bushings. Rear bolts on both sides were seized. Got the nuts off, sawzalled bolts upward on inner end. There was gap enough to saw just the bolt and not the inner sleeve that seemed to be much harder. I was just polishing that. The bolt heads would not r...
