So I have to do smog in January and I was told that catalytic converters need to be Nissan Manufactured and i've heard from some other people that it doesn't have to be from Nissan. How do I know whats the truth??? I live in California.

They didn't give me any information prior to doing the repair so I can't say what they did or didn't do. As far as the cat's go, they did say they took the car apart to look at it, although I never physically saw it.... so who knows.
