Re: Finally got myself a compressor air pump

I had a slow leak that lost about a half pound each week compared to the other tires. That turned out to be the the valve stem, and not the tire itself.

Re: Car Camping

Not camping, but when we road trip with the dogs, I fold down the middle and driver side rear seats and throw the dog beds in there. They love it! The cargo area with rear seats folded is pretty flat/level, and there's even flaps on the back of the rear seats that unfold to cover the crevice between...

Re: SURFING!!

In my 2006, the flat cargo area with rear seats down is just under 6 ft. I sometimes haul a 6 ft folding table and have to stand it at a slight diagonal to close the rear hatch. However, the back of the front passenger seat folds forward and flat, so with that down you should clear 8'2" from th...

Re: Nissan Fluids Or Aftermarket

I've always used aftermarket fluids in my 2006 SE.
Either Mobil 1 or Valvoline full synthetic 75w-90 in both diffs.
Either Castrol Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle or Valvoline MaxLife Multi-Vehicle ATF in the transmission and transfer case. This can also be used for power steering too.

Re: Does this whine sound like timing chain?

Yep, that's what my '06 sounded like. My mechanic also downplayed it and said he didn't think it was a time chain problem. So, I went to a Nissan dealer to get a second opinion, and the tech confirmed that's exactly what it was. I had the dealer take care of it, since their quoted price was pretty m...

Re: Fan clutch life expectancy

Well, going through old posts I found the original fan clutch was replaced around 34,000 miles, so it seems I actually got over 80,000 out of the replacement. So, thanks global warming :D

Re: ABS coming on all the time

I recall having a similar problem a while back. Looking at my old post, it seems to have resolved itself before I was able to get it to my mechanic.

Fan clutch life expectancy

What is the life expectancy of the fan clutch? This week at about 117,000 miles I'll be having the 3rd fan clutch installed on my 2006. It seems I have to replace it every 50,000-60,000 miles. Is that normal?
The first replacement was a genuine Nissan, and this one is too.

Re: TPMS sensor question

I don't think the spare tire has a TPMS sensor.

Re: TPMS sensor question

Nevermind. Spoke too soon. Right after posting, my wife told me the tire light came on when she drove the truck this afternoon.

Re: TPMS sensor question

Well, I've had the Frontier wheels on my Pathfinder for a few days without doing anything for the TPMS sensors, and no dash warning lights have come on. Is it possible the senors synced on their own?

I'm a moderator at Club Frontier. If you give me some info, I can try to help you.
I was able to finally make contact with the seller though one of his other threads.

TPMS sensor question

If I installed a set of 2018 Frontier wheels with their original TPMS sensors on my 2006 Pathfinder, could those 2018 sensors be synced with my 2006 TPMS and work properly?

Anyone here a member on clubfrontier.org?

Is anyone here an active member on the clubfrontier.org forums? I found a listing on their parts for sale forum for a set of wheels. I registered so I could contact the seller who is in the next town over from me, but members need to be registered for 10 days and have 10 posts before they can reply ...
