You sound like someone who sits quietly in the corner saying "yes sir, sorry sir!".

Nope, I'm just realistic about my expectations from my cars. I also don't complain about something just to complain. Like Storm said, you really have nothing to complain about yet since your SUV has been under ...

Just wondering, are you the person that sued McDonald's because the coffee was too hot? Or are you the one that sued junk food companies for making them fat?

No. I am the motherfucker who doesn't take shit. Nothing more, nothing less.

This has nothing to do with suing anybody, or frivolous ...

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really................................................. really don't like my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. Unfortunately I am not in a finacial position right now to sell it and buy something else...as I recently bought a house.

I've decided ...

#1, YOUR 4wd system isn't working either. #2 ....I think your missing the point entirely my friend....

My 4WD is working just fine... as a matter of fact I just used it today to pull my utility trailer out of a wet yard becuse my Bro had it and his 2WD Chevy got stuck. It had absolutely no ...

I would have them put the tires from the other Pathfinder on & take you for a test ride..

That's precisely what's going to happen, still waiting for a written reply to do just that this Saturday. If they want to play games, I'm game. :-)

My '05 takes a turn of the wheel right or left on dry ...

My friend....RUN away from a 2005 Pathfinder! I made that blunder myself.

2006 - Present is another story. And to avoid the major design flaw of the transmission cooler / radiator integration fluid mixing, you'll need to look at 2009 - Present.

You'll NEVER believe what the dealer said....(4WD related)

I'm simply speechless with the explanation the dealership gave me concerning the problem with the 4WD system on my 2005 Pathfinder....

My Pathy will go into 4wd no problem, in any scenario. However, it will only come out of 4wd if I make a hard left / right turn. Maybe - 1 out of 20 times it ...

I feel your pain, I too have recently bought a house and cannot afford to deal off this thing yet, I need to get another year out of it. I don't understand what any lawyer is going to do for you, you got bought a poorly made SUV but nissan has paid for all or most of the repairs, right? What do you ...

Well, reading this thread (and many others...) in its entirety certainly gives me a good overview that quite a few people are experiencing waaaaay too many issues with their 2005 Pathy's. So, I'm not alone there then....

I've got a 2005 Pathfinder, bought it in August 2008 with 52k on the odometer ...

Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it.

I just got back from taking the Pathy to the dealer for the 4wd issue, along with not blowing hot air AND water leaking from the clip where the passenger visor clips on (left clip).

ONE WORD OF ADVICE AND WARNING TO ALL:

Do NOT buy a 2005 Pathfinder ...

What is the speed limit for 4WD mode?

Since my 4WD doesn't disengage easily.....after coming out of some snowy roads, I got on the hwy, drove for about 2-3 miles and then took the off ramp. I didn't realize it at the time but I was in 4WD the whole time on the hwy, and I was doing about 80 mph (140 kph) for that short duration.

Would ...

Now, it won't switch out of 4wd unless you make a hard left/right turn with it. Uh-uh, somethin's up.

Point is, if the vehicle is functioning in a way other than what is normal, or what it was previously...then obviously something is wrong somewhere....which means there is a fix.....

Mine has ...

A theory thats been bandied about is that driveline play is a factor in the 4wd disengagement. Perhaps the new trans has more play? or perhaps your front driveshaft is worn.

t

Thats sounds like a very logical theory, I'll pass it on to the dealer...who has still yet to call me back on what the ...

Thanks for pointing me to that thread, good info.

However, my Pathfinder NEVER did this until the new tranny was put in. It went in/out of 4wd smoothly and flawlessly before, nary a problem. Now, it won't ...
