I don't know if I did something wrong or not but. I had the car off, I jumped the terminals and the transfer motor immediately came on. So I decided to jump it with the car on. This tripped the 4wd light.

When I removed the jump and restart the vehicle everything was back to normal.

I was going to ask, if it would be any harm in jumping the wires on the load side of the relay harness. So essentially the transfer motor is always running. If I stay below 40 mph?

Would jumping it cause any other codes?

I took the relay out and tried to tension up the contacts and scuff them on the relay. I don't seem to see realize a difference. However I've been driving it in Auto all the time now just to see if I can find a pattern. The chances of the 4WD coming on at higher speeds (above 40) is much much lower ...

Alright, I'll go into the harness and twist he contacts to put more tension on the spade connections. Now, I have noticed, suppose I have it in 2wd not AUTO. the chances of the light coming on below 35 is much higher than above say 40. If I put it into Auto it will come on much quicker, but truthful...

4x4 Issues aftrer trans job

Months ago I had the transmission rebuilt and right after this I've had 4x4 issues. I took it back to the shop and they are having a difficult time finding the problem. The 4WD drive light comes on soon after putting it into 4 Auto or 4 Hi, or the image might show the front wheels disengaged (like i...

Have to resurrect this. I had transmission work done and after that I get this intermittent 4WD light coming on. Once it comes on it kicks out the 4x4 (which I use for snow). I took it back in and the guy says there's no stored codes other than a low voltage (my battery was bad) either way, he clean...

part number differences

I've seen the same thing, backorders on the 4600s. My question is what's the difference between the 24-197427 (4wd pathfinder) and the 24-137430 (2wd Pathfinder, 4wd Frontier, 4wd xterra)?

Can I get away with putting the 24-137430 (cheaper) on the fronts of a 05 4wd?

Taking the car to a transmission shop. They seemed confident in determining the cause if its the solenoid or some other problem. smj999smj; I've found the solenoid for sale online, you were right just took a little digging!

I took the car to the dealer after the code popped up again. The clunk then then limp mode. The dealer suggests putting in a new transmission. His logic is that there is no way to tell if it's just the valve body solenoid misbehaving like the code suggest or if there is something mechanically wrong ...

I know I'm reviving an old thread. The same thing is happening to me and I posted a thread for it. Were you able to do this yourself? From what I understand the solenoids on this TCM cannot be individually replaced. The problem I'm seeing is apparently you can't buy the TCM your self either. Unless ...

Transmission again!

I did the cooler bypass and replaced the fluid on my transmission and it seemed to be working fine for a while. No contamination so I bypassed before it could become a problem. It still shifted hard sometimes but the new fluid seemed to be a band aid of sorts for a bit. Finally now there is a code b...

I called Nissan, gave them my case number. Showing when I called about this before and what the issues were and how the mechanics said it could be a leak but they couldn't see it 100%. They said I would still have to pay the copay of $2500. I escalated the issue and now awaiting a call back. Ugh...

I tried to get a good photo but it was difficult. In normal light you can clearly see it's a brown frothy color.

This is the inside of the coolant reservoir. Notice the brown sludge ring above the coolant.
