Another mystery noise. Deep bass sound on decel. (U-Joint?)

I've got a really weird noise on decel. I first heard it only when doing 80mph+ and let off the gas, but now it does it at much lower speeds. If let off the gas doing more than 45mph, I begin to hear a very deep "bass" sound, almost like wind buffeting, but it's not that. It's kind of like...

Check the brake pads... At least that is what I would check first. I thought that, but it doesn't sound like pads... and the location of it sounds like it's coming more from the middle than the sides. I'll definitely take a peek at em once I find some time to get under there though. Thanks. Check y...

Squeaking from the rear end when driving in reverse

When driving in reverse I get a "squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak" and the rate increases/decreases according to my speed. I haven't had a chance to climb under there yet to take a look, but has anyone has had similar symptoms and know what it could be? Figure it's worth asking about to see ...

Great thread. I just placed an order for the bags. Most of my towing will probably be light with just a 4x8 foot open utility trailer with a motorcycle or two on it. But I may be pulling my buddy's 20+ foot enclosed trailer with 3 or 4 bikes, plus tools & gear for a few days. If so, I'll order u...

I'm sportin some "super sweet" Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country's right now. Stock size. Came with the truck when I got it. Oh man, they're so pimp  Considering going up a size with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs when they're done. Most of my driving is highway but I want something that...

Projector headlight options

So I've been keeping my eyes on ebay & the likes for grins & giggles to see what kind of projector headlight options are available to us. It seems like there's four different replacement housing styles, each listed as fitting 05-08, but as some of us have found out, the 08 is slightly differ...

Hey, I have NOT gotten a programmer yet... was giving the Bully Dog some consideration but haven't pulled the trigger just yet.

I did, however, do the radiator bypass and fresh ATF this past weekend.

I actually just got a nice Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT last night and found that the windshield mount sticks to the roof of that little cubby hole so that's where my GPS now resides. One benefit to having it there is that it's out of the way and within easy reach while my hand is resting on the shifter. One...

Yeah, some people did that. I got wild, totally splurged and chose to spend a whole 60 cents  on a pair of 5/16" rubber caps (aka "screw protectors") and stuck em on there. they don't need to be clamped or anything as they're not under pressure. That's all you need to spend on t...

From what I've read, the integrated part has more to do with warming the ATF when it's cold & helping to regulate the ATF temp, than it has to do with cooling it when it's hot.

Since I did it, temps have been well below freezing and shifts have been very smooth even when cold.

I've got 86k on my PF and just did the bypass. Luckily my transmission fluid was NOT contaminated so far as I could tell (it looks pretty much like the ATF in my dad's car with 65k on it) You can find the transmission fluid dip stick (cable, really) on the passenger side of the engine compartment. T...

As for an aggressive tire i would go with the duratracs, there are a lot of posts about the duratracs you just have to search for them. I also love my general grabber AT2 there very aggressive and perform very well on road and off and are cheaper than the duratracs if you are trying to save some mo...
