UPDATE: After 10k+ miles, these tires have become a little more noisy, just barely noticeable. Otherwise, I'm still as happy as I could be with these tires.

Re: s6607

Ask the AutoZone person to show you the FRAM or any other brand equilivant filter and the answer is obvious. I'm not an engineer, but I think the larger filter is the wiser choice. As I posted earlier, they swapped the STP for the FRAM without any headache or upcharges. today i decided to go to auto...

STP oil filter s6607 <-- Not for the 4.0L

I purchased the Castrol Oil and STP Filter combo for $21.99 from AutoZone. Their computer says that STP oil filter s6607 is the filter needed for our 4.0L engines. This filter is a good 1" shorted than the proper filter. Research online says that the s6607 filter is for the Altima or Mazda Prot...

I've highlighted the factory transmission cooler below in yellow. You do not need a lift to perform the bypass.

I stayed with the 265/70R16s like I had before. I think that's the recommended size for my model. My previous tires were Dunlop Highway All-Season and they were miserable. I only purchased them because I got a flat with the puncture in the side wall and Discount Tire didn't have the OEMs in stock. I...

BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain w/ 10k mile update

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Rugged+Terrain+T%2FA I just bought these tires and they are amazing. The set is about $150 cheaper than the Goodyear SilentArmors and the specs are almost identical. Plus, they were in stock at NTB. I picked up my grandfather...

I head straight to Pep Boys and I buy their recommended 6 quarts of Castrol's Transmax transmission fluid. I'd get that trans fluid out quick, And I mean quick. Like this weekend. This anit my first PF. Go to the stealership and buy the 10 bucks a quart trans fluid. If the mixing doesnt get you, th...

still curious, where did you mount the Derale cooler? Directly behind the existing cooler. UPDATE: So, I drove home tonight from work(only 3 miles) as easily as I could to reduce shifts. I leave the PF running in the driveway and I pull the transmission dip stick and it still shows full. I leave th...

has the truck ever had a coolant/trans contamination problem, or was it by-passed before anything happened? where was your ATF oil leaking from (specifically: hose, connection, aftermarket cooler)? how much oil did you lose from the leak (how much did it take to adjust back to the proper level)? al...

I performed my bypass over a month ago installing a second oil cooler. I put 1500 miles on the PF and no problems, leaks, etc. This weekend I'm unloading after a 500 mile round trip and I notice oil splattered on the step rail and mud flap on the passenger side. I look underneath and find a puddle o...

Question....

Is there risk of air bubbles getting trapped in the transmission cooler after performing the bypass? If so, any tricks to force them out? I'm afraid the oil is not flowing properly since I performed the bypass.
