Can the oil pressure difference from an after market oil filter make this noise?

I only hear it on acceleration

So the Nissan dealer said the whine was caused by the non OEM oil filter and not the timing chain pensioners?

Hi Andy

There is another tool I saw that went around the hydraulic tensioners and nylon guides...did you use that or have to use to remove and replace those tensioners?

I just changed mine. I got them from Amazon, shipped to my house for about $50. I went back with original from factory.

You can change them without removing the intake

Timing chain warranty

I searched the forum and found many threads about the timing chain problem, but I didnt see anything about if it is covered under warranty until a certain period.

Im sure my 06 PF has it, but my son has an 08 Frontier with 64k miles with same engine and I can hear a faint whining noise.

Any ideas?
