Lab thought of all that and removed the driveshaft and pressed out the new ujoints..looked like 2 had needle bearings that fell down during assemble and got broke. Went to O'Reillys and got 2 news ones and redone the job being extra careful when reassembling...lots better now but still some vibratio...
when pressing the bearing caps back onto the ujoints, shoud you press them in enough to bottom out against the end of the joint, or just enough to put the E clip back into the grooves?
smj 2wd jacked up all 4 sides and checked for play or looseness..none marked driveshaft...came out easily...marked yokes...pressed out old u joints and replaced both front and back...both operated smoothly..replaced driveshaft, aligned marks and test drove.... 2006 v6. 140k. Had a slight vibration around 55-60 mph. Marked drive shaft took it off and replaced front a rear u joints. Lined up drive shaft with the marks and rumble/vibration has increased
I recently replaced front brake pads and rotors on my 06.
Want to be sure everything is where it is supposed to be. Anyone have a diagram or picture of where the pad return spring is place at? It is the wishbone shaped spring with prongs at each end.
06 Pathfinder..V6 / 4.0...2wd going to do my 2nd or 3rd drain and fill on transmission fluid...wanted to drop the pan and check the magnet and possibly get out another half quart or so....is there a filter/screen that can be changed or cleaned? I just put new plugs in it Friday night...what a pain.....
Well my Pathy turned 212,000 and over the weekend did my plug change; this time I did not remove anything to get to the passenger side plug under the plenum; just a little maneuvering of the coil and separating it before pulling it out in between the plenum and valve cover; If you ever read my post...
I have an 06 making a sound much like you are describing; like a electrical whining sound, only when driving. You can hear it decreas as trans shifts. But is sounds engine related.
I have 140k on original plugs and was wondering if they could be the problem.
