to blow mine out I just used compressed air in a can that you would use to clean your computer...very cheap and easy I just did my oil change last week. While I was down there, I took off my radiator plugs and used about 20lbs of compressed air to blow out any remaining trans fluid left in the old ...

Mth

try changing the serpentine belt and see it if goes away..with 66k miles, it cant hurt and may be the cause of the whine.

could be a belt tensioner as well.

I noticed when my wife pulls into garage alot of time I get the smell of coolant near the front. But when I check coolant levels, it always is full. I have done the tranny / rad bypass. When I changed the oil in it this weekend, I also went back and put some low pressure air into the internal cooler...

Brandon 06 Path here..pretty well loaded except for DVD and nav and 4wd. Bought it brand new in 06..had 2 Nissan recalls on minor things, other than that, not a minute of problems..has 90k miles now I did the radiator bypass several months ago..no problems..I would check the coolant and be sure it i...

Baed

my concern is that if it does fail, then it would contaminate the coolant.
Think on my next oil change, I will drain out what I can and then blow some low pis air through it.

Gilliam....good pics of the fluid I did the bypass about 3 months ago..06 Path here..my fluid was a reddish brown.... just thought about something...should I blow out the remaining fluid left in the rad cooler? I only capped mine off...how much is left in there? Is it enough to contaminate my tranny...

forgot to ask also, have you checked the trans fluid? seems odd that you had these problems right after a quick lube..I know most are probably good, but I have heard horror stories about some of them..guess you can say that about dealers as well. I have owned new cars and changed to synthetic oil ar...

so yesterday, I got under my Path..seeing where the drain plug is on the trans pan...

do you have to remove the cross member to drain the fluid? I know I can get the bolt out, but it looks like the fluid will draiin almost directly onto the crossmember

I am having a hard time getting my head wrapped around the thought that a battery would cause the Anti theft chip in the key not be recognized. The battery is putting out 13.2 volts, all the cells are good, I don't have an inline ammeter to test the cranking amps delivered, however it turns the car...

Possible that the filter is internal which would require the transmission to be disassembled. My Mazda 6 was that way. So what I did is installed an inline filter that I would be able to change/clean. I was not about to tear my transmission apart. For the pathfinder I'm unsure as I have not done mu...

I found one from E trailer.com.

Question..does the stock trans cooler have a port where you can screw in a temp gauge..where it turns the fan on and off at a certain temp?

Volv,

Havent tried the dealer yet...ususally if there is a part like the filter, your auto parts places will list it...they had one for my 02 Xterra.

either way, I like the idea of an inline filter. Saw where you can pick them up for about $40
